Guess Urban’s Next Coaching Gig

Mates,

As a number here have mentioned, despite the thought that urban might not get re-employed you just know that he is going to get a football job somewhere, somehow. This morning’s question is guess where, when, and in what capacity that Ohio sociopath will be re-employed. We should hopefully keep this thread in a box and open it up in about nine months when he gets his new job…

Hope you are well, and the wind doesn’t blow your house down. Lots of power out up here in the North country.

I could easily see that prick making his way back to Columbus at some point.  On the other hand, any second tenure will assuredly be inferior to his first stint.  No way he will generate the same results like that twice, especially now that Harbaugh has had enough time to adapt and figure out how to manage the rivalry in a competent manner.

I believe it's a foregone conclusion that Meyer will go back to college coaching, it's likely the only thing he is remotely good at and he really is good at it.

He will be looking for a big, big time program, an already stacked roster, ability to recruit well long term, a recent history of underperforming, an AD who will pretend to believe his talk while ignoring/hiding his scumbag nature.  Most importantly, the gig has to be already set up only one or two steps short of a couple of easy conference championships. So:

1. FSU

2. Texas

3. Clemson if Dabo flames out

4. Outside chance for Texas A&M, because of their recent recruiting

I’d almost be willing to bet my hard-earned money on Urban to Tennessee by the end of 2023.

Pseudo Blue blood program that’ll soon be starring down the possibility of becoming the Illinois of the SEC once Texas and Oklahoma join. I have a friend in the industry who seems confident that Bama will be moved to the SEC East when it all goes down, so UT will certainly need to get ahead of that.  Assuming Heupel regresses over time like at UCF and considering the general nuttiness of the UT boosters, I think the stars will align to make it happen.

And I’d really like his chances of succeeding there. Knoxville has a certain charm, and an ideal location for relative access to various talent hotbeds.
