ESPN article re: the QB competition

Not a ton of insight or new information, although I hadn't seen/had forgotten some of the stats about Rudock's lack of interceptions at Iowa, which makes me happy. Also sharing because picture of Gentry with the other QBs and holy crap he's enormous.

Wonder why the other qbs were not in the photo op? Not good vibes for Alex or Wilton.

Actually, between Jake and Zach, Shane looks so small. You would have thought he was the freshmen walk-on kicker.

If football doesn't work out maybe Coach Beilien could give him a shot.

Its pretty normal for objects towards the edges of photographs to appear larger than things in the middle.

I spy Dave Brandon

That type of stuff isn't going anywhere...the noodle was overkill, but every school in the country takes advantage of sponsorship opportunities. In 2015, Michigan is no different.
Blame Brandon for everything all you want, he was a SHIT AD...the worst. But Chobani "Quotes of the Week" were far from a crime.

My god look at the arms on Gentry. I need to go back and read his scouting report on his strength...this dood looks like he might be tough to drag down.

I have a really good feeling about Gentry. I think he's going to be fantasic.

Doesn't necessarily mean play at QB. Though personally I would not move him to TE just yet. His potential as a QB is way too high.

The loss of a future QB season can make the marginal contribution look tiny, (even from a huge Gentry).

I feel like I have read this post 12 times now over the last year. Real football cannot get here fast enough.

was under discussion on one ot the sport shows by a former receiver who had played with Alex in the early days.
He said he just didn't look confident in the huddle, and if the QB didn't believe in the play, how could the rest of the huddle?
The former receiver said he had talked to Smith's current teammates and he is now very confident in the huddle. The Harbaugh Effect.

Gentry is a BEAST.
I'm not so sure O'Korn is an odds on favorite....how many QBs will Michigan have fighting for the job next year? Frankly I've lost count but I know we have some 3-4 guys minimum that would be pretty much starters for most top tier CFB programs.
EDIT: Look at his highschool arms and frame...compare to the ESPN picture..he has packed on a fair amount of lean mass. His scouting report looks intriguing as hell can't wait to see this guy take some snaps.

Whatever happened to that walk on from the baseball team, Remano?
August 18th, 2015 at 10:30 PM ^
Not sure but Michigan has like 7 or 8 guys competing for the QB job this year...I would NOT be surprised if the starter might be someone we all missed!

Who are these 3-4 guys who would be starters for most top tier college football programs? We have 2 guys who were benched at mid level CFB programs, a guy with 5 INTs to 0 TDs, and a bunch of freshman with no experience. I'm not saying we're not going to get a decent guy out of all that, but quantity does not necessarily mean quality yet.

Are you kidding me?
Brandon Peters
O'Korn
Gentry
O'Korn is not a freshman and he has some excellent experience. Gentry would be a sophmore next year assuming he doesn't start this year. Brandon Peters was going all rock star in the Elite 11 in Oregon a few weeks back. There's more in the stable but I'm too tired to remember or look it up.
