People were calling this a trap game like MSU was some menace that could only beat themselves.  This quarterback gives Northwestern a heck of a shot against most any team.  They are State's equal any day no matter the level of focus.

Normally a State game puts me to sleep, but this guy is a fun exciting player.

Blown away that MSU was last in the conference in 3rd down conversion considering how good that RB stable is and how competent Cousins is at QB.  They really do seem like one of those teams that wins early on in spite of their deficiencies, then get caught in the 2nd half as the pendulum swings back to normality.  Somewhat like Iowa last year, though Iowa was a better team.

That stat almost has to be wrong when you first hear it.

But we saw how it killed them early in this game. Missed a pair of third and shorts. Somehow. Too bad they didnt have Vinnie Smith, right? And Cousins missed badly on his first third and makeable attempt in the passing game. Those stops gave the Cats offense a chance to roll up this lead.

Even right here, they failed on third down, causing a key fourth down decision and time out.

Is Texas reminding anyone of a down Michigan season? Having a bad year, but still gets up to pull the upset in a rival game? They could be having their Mich 2005 season, with Nebraska = Penn State.

Calling a fake punt there IN GENERAL is a terrible call!  A team's odds of getting a first down are much greater with running a traditional play instead of running a fake punt in the opposing teams territory on 4th and 10 when the ENTIRE STADIUM knows that a fake is coming.  It makes me sick to see a coach actually get rewarded for such an idiotic call.

Funny the announcers were calling it, Fitzgerald seemed to notice it, everyone was ready for the fake and it still happened.  Good for Sparty, I guess.

Like I said before, I hate seeing teams play like crap and win.  MSU has looked like garbage for about 40 out of the first 45 minutes of this game, and they are only down 3?

They lose this game. Maybe just out of the shame of falling for that. ND was one thing. Trick me once...trick me twice...

Even though NW had the deep throw open, a first down would be just fine.  And as I write this, they get one.  That and Persa just caused Jones to drop his jock on the field.  Nice.
