Dave Brandon is a stand-up guy
Major respect to Dave Brandon who has apprently invited the kid from Oklahoma to a game. The story where the kid was forced to take off their Michigan t-shirt because the school district is full of babies with brown diapers.

Brandon said they are inviting Barton & his parents to a Michigan football game and will put him on the big screen. Also bought him a shirt

Of course he is. You can't reach as deep into people's pockets from a seated position.

According to my sources (Mark Snyder's Tweeter) Brandon actually got the Mden to make him an inside out shirt to wear to school. I assume this means print on the inside, which IMO is pretty badass.
Edit: It's actually a Michigan Wolverines shirt with "Michigan" on the inside, meaning he probably still can't wear it to school. As Brandon says, "To hell with 'em".

This is why I love Brandon. Not only is he a good guy, but he knows how to take advantage of a situation and make Michigan look awesome.

This could be actual evidence of Brandon CREATING THE FUTURE

but I still think DB is a DB. The more he can keep his hands off of it the better it will be.
oops too late, already being used for PR.

Our athletic director is giving a family in Oklahoma - which was punished for supporting Michigan - free tickets to a Michigan game, and you think it's a bad idea? Would you have preferred that he make them buy tickets instead?

if you can't read.
Lets try my first sentence again shall we? Good for the kid & his family
Me & the rest of the world hearing all about it doesn't help his family any more does it?

Was that response really necessary?
It seems from the other thread that your beef with Brandon is that he fired your favorite coach, so I'll ignore your posts on this topic from now on.

Dave Brandon gets a very unfair shake by the proprieters of Mgoblog. As if Brian is not out to make a $$ or two himself.
MGoBlog is part of the machine. Hocking T Shirts, Magazines, Kickstarter contributions etc. It is very very hypocritical of Brian to hate Dave Brandon so much for doing the exact same things that Brian does over here: MARKETING AND BRANDING.
For the record, I love this site...but the myopic hatred of Brandon gets ridiculous sometimes.

Your argument is invalid. Nobody has ever claimed marketing and branding are bad.
The more apt argument is that Brandon is re-branding something that doesn't need to be rebranded. The quintessential example of this, IMO, is the mascot issue. Brandon argues we need a mascot to get young fans loving Michigan. Since when has there been an issue with young fans? The only thing a mascot does is continue the conversion of the classic, traditional M gameday to something more akin to a hockey game, with the added side effect of creating some cheap money-making opportunities.
I'm all for a lot of the stuff he's done, but when he messes with gameday and stadium atmosphere, he fails miserably. I fell in love with Michigan when I was a kid because of everything about gameday and Brandon is slowly taking it away.

I am generally not a fan of Brandon. But, in one move, he somehow beat Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and whatever-the-hell other schools are in that state.

...and that can be both a good and bad thing.

Great gesture!
That county in Oklahoma needs to wise up and change it's rules
