Cubs @ Indians - Game 6

Submitted by outwest on

Two quick outs for the Cubs and then the floodgates opened.  HR by Bryant and some terrible baseball by Cleveland have the early score at 3-0.

I know Kluber's been great, but this line up will have seen him 3 times now and they appear to have found their bats. Plus the cummlative affect of all those pitches on short rests.

That's what I'm hoping, at least. Let's go Cubs!

You gotta imagine Tito will only let Kluber go throw this Cubs lineup two more times max, then turn it over to Miller. That means: It's extremely important for the Cubs bats to get on him early. They basically need a game identical to last night, minus the grand slam. Cubs must be up by 2 runs by the time Miller gets into the ballgame.

My husband's going. He's been a Cubs fan all his life. Doing something like this is so not his style, but this could be a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, so I strongly encouraged him to do it. He's driving from Chicago. God, I hope the Cubs win.

Should be a great one.

With the bases juiced there tonight in the 7th, I do get bringing Chapman in to get outta that inning...but after that, trotting him back out for the 8th? Well...even though it was a quick inning, I'm still not so sure I would have done that.

Still, it's not like Chapman is going to be "unavailable" tomorrow, by any stretch of the imagination. Although, I think that Maddon is gonna primarily lean on Lester & Lackey to bring home the title, and Chapman can obviously close it out, if it comes down to that.

Looking forward to watching Game 7 of the World Series. The second greatest sporting event in professional sports (the first being, of course, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals; Super Bowl is third).

Excited for Game 7!

Wow, Baez is a wizard at 2nd. I've been watching baseball a long time, and don't remember ever seeing a 2b with that kind of agility. The way he contorts his body and still throws a strike is incredible. Some SS's, but no 2b's that I remember.

Go Cubs Go!

Unless you're from Cleveland, I'm not sure how you can't be rooting for the Cubs tonight. This could be history over 100 years in the making.

Win or lose, Wrigleyville is going to burn to the ground by tomorrow morning.

Well hey...unless you happen to live in Cleveland.

But on a side note, last I checked a certain "Bo" and a certain "Jim" are Ohio-born folks...as were a certain "Desmond," "Charles," etc. I could go on. And on.

What, you don't root for Harbaugh? Shame on you. ;-)

All that said, go Cubs.
