Nice! Dude is a welcome add to the class. Still hoping we don’t get NIL’ed on Harbor
January 31st, 2023 at 2:32 PM ^
I wouldn't get your hopes up....Report from today is that South Carolina has the largest NIL deal on the table for Harbor, but that Oregon is right there with their long-term branding plan, track facilities and Nike ties.
There are even rumors that Michigan has essentially backed out of the recruitment.

Fuck, even with the burger NIL from the Brown Jug???

If by backing out of it means we sent the entire offensive staff to visit last week, then yes "Hoke cooled on him"

Interesting, hope you're right! Thanks for the heads up.

Good, because the balls and On3 predictions for Jamel Howard are going back to Wisconsin.

Crap, I wanted another NT more than an edge.
January 31st, 2023 at 3:05 PM ^
I don’t think Brandt is an EDGE prospect in this class, probably closer to a Kris Jenkins 3tech or SDE.

More bodies are nice buy I figured Pierce would play there. Another Benny/Rooks situation in two years.

We really only have Iwunnah and Grant as true nose tackles. We could use some more beef there. Perhaps some others are going to play that role?
January 31st, 2023 at 3:57 PM ^
The nose beef depends on the set and whether we’re playing a 5-2. On passing downs mason graham would probably take the “nose” since he’s capable of taking doubles. Trey Pierce can be a nose / 3t tweener, while Grant and Iwunnah are closer to truer NTs.
January 31st, 2023 at 4:02 PM ^
Since we play such multiple fronts we can afford to only have like 3 true nose tackles on the roster at once. The more important thing for this defense is athleticism and versatility, i.e. Mason Graham, Derrick Moore, Kris Jenkins, etc. So in short no need to take a nose just to have one.

Bummer I liked Howard’s tape a bit more.

yes please.

He's only a 3-star to 247 right now, but given how many subscribers The Michigan Insider has relative to other team sites, a boost to low 4-star is likely #BlueWall

247 has him as a four star, the composite says three star.
January 31st, 2023 at 3:04 PM ^
Ah, you're right!
January 31st, 2023 at 7:00 PM ^
OL and DL star ratings are probably the hardest to be accurate on with 17 year olds

It's always a little odd when a commitment from one season ('23 here) trails a commitment for the position (Ted from Cinci) from the next year ('24).
January 31st, 2023 at 6:21 PM ^
They aren't really the same position, and Brandt has been looking at UM for a while. Well before Hammond committed.

4 Blue balls coming quickly!

Trench Warfare!!! We are reloading on the lines, thanks portal and recruiting , and NIL kept Jenkins, Zinter and Keegan in AA!!〽️

This would be a huge pickup for 〽️.
I think Harbaugh brought the Money Gun when he met with Harbor, let’s hope that’s the case.
