Really physical game, questionable officiating, Michigan really gritted out the win. Deserving of muppets!
Very questionable officiating
Michigan shot more free throws, but the calls at the end of that game were pretty awful and kept SD in the game longer than they would have been otherwise.
That charge call at the end was terrible

Classic example of the ref wanting to be center stage.
We were 50:1 to win it all before the tourney. I put 20 down on us. I wonder what our odds are now?
Still have to beat three one seeds in a row (probably). Or a finally healthy UConn team.
I feel like the tourney is wide open for the first time in awhile though.

Louisville terrifies me for style reasons and South Carolina has like the one player in the country who can just play Naz straight up. Those matchups are scary.

Dilk with one of the better 4 point 5 rebound 1 assist performances you'll ever see. Really good defensively, calmed the team down at some important points, didn't turn it over.

Like Naz said, South Dakota didn't want to go home. Cudos to them, they played hard and they played good, but ultimately Michigan made the plays when it counted, Grats Ladies, Go Blue!
Fought off some “official” adversity to get there, but never wavered in their demeanor. THAT was a hostile environment, and I’m so proud. These girls have heart and moxie!!!! Go blue!!!
happy for our ladies. however, we better show up on monday better than tonight. we lost by 20+ to louisville early in the year and us playing solid now, but far from mistake-free ball, isn't going to cut it. can't have nolan go 1-10. way too many mistakes, bad fouls, cold-shooting for us to have much of a chance to advance.
If they can limit turnovers against Louisville's pressure defense they have a chance. Been the bugaboo all year for this team (better tonight, especially after the first quarter).
Scary matchup for us because of the turnovers though.
they were touting s. dkt's turnover margin of +7 before the game tonight - we certainly did better than that. but as you say, louisville will be a whole 'nother test.

The team they tied with for the conference championship is #16 on the women's version of Kenpom. Can't find their ranking but imagine it is similar. Legit team.

Is it me? How many steps did that kid take on their last 3 to tie. 3? More? Is traveling even called anymore? Was there a rules change. Any violation I can see clearly on the screen must be an obvious call. Anyway,glad she missed.
