Charles Matthews already projected 1st rounder in '18 Draft

I know this means little to nothing as of right now. But nbadraft.net has Charles as a 1st rounder going to the Warriors in the 2018 Draft. Gives you an idea of how highly touted this kid is. Hate to put expectations on a kid, but with how Beilein was describing him as mix between GR3 and THJ it's hard not to get excited. Can't wait to see a frontcourt consisting of Charles, DJ & Moe. http://www.nbadraft.net/2018mock_draft

I agree.   I'm very excited about the fure of this team next year.   I hope X is working on his alley oop game.   Mo, DJ and Matthews should be Phi Slamma Jamma next year.  Duncan should be open for 3's

I met Charles through a couple of football players a couple of months ago. They said he was Charles from the basketball team. I had no idea who he was. Either never heard about him or forgot. Another nice & quiet guy, hopefully a beast on the court.

Be a huge upgrade over Irvin. With X looking like he could make a huge leap next year and with Duncan and Ali coming back the team should be very good. I also think incoming freshmen Eli Brooks will be in the mix. I know he's the lowest rated guy in the class but in Pennsylvania many think he's comparable to former Syrcause and Pennsylvania native Gerry McNamara but more athletic and with better defense. Villanova really wanted Brooks and they seem to be the best at finding multifaceted elite guards.

No sign of Wagner anywhere on that list.   Not sure how they can't see the potential in  a 6'10 guy with an inside outside game that plays his ass off but that's fine with me.  2 more years of Mo would be outstanding.

For Mo with scouts is he doesn't have an "elite" perimeter game yet as a streatch 4 (i.e. Frank Kaminsky) and obviously he's not big enough to bang as a traditional 4 or 5 in the NBA. The guy needs to put on 20 pounds and better develop his shot if he wants 1st round to upper 2nd round consideration.

Meh I'm still not a big fan of Camp Sanderson. You can put on a bunch of muscle quickly, but usually there's a downside because certain things get neglected.

Obviously injuries have a ton to do with luck, but it's hard to ignore the insane amount of injuries Beilein teams have had. Yes I also know hindsight is 20/20.

Congenital as in a defect from birth? I can't prove my theory, but neither can you.

I just find it odd that McGary and Irvin had serious back problems. Spike had very serious hip problems. Those just aren't normal injuries that happen to guys, especially athletes, in the peak of their physical prime. All of these guys on one team, and something doesn't add up. Usually corner cutting (poor form, building prominent muscles but neglecting others causing stress on weaker stabilizing muscles, etc...) is at the root of this. I do, however, think Caris just had a string of bad luck.

Just speculating though. I could be very wrong.

X, MAAR, Matthews, Wilson, Wagner. They can even run sets where MAAR plays point and Poole plays the 2.

It really comes down to X and MAAR next year to see if they can excel in the backcourt.

Funny how a month ago ,,,,,,,many many mbloggers had beilein having a final dinner at the gandy dancer and then sending him on the next train from the depot.  I guess the bandwagon is starting to fill up again.  Go Blue.

There isn't a whole lot of room on the bandwagon with me and my $7600 I'm going to get when Michigan wins the national championship

NBADraft.net is the Bleacher Report of NBA draft scouting. They basically live off of the fact that they got a great domain name. Their projections from multiple years out are rediculous sometimes. DraftExpress is the website to go to! They have great content.

Looking forward to Charles though!
