Beat Iowa
November 25th, 2023 at 11:49 PM ^
All favorites winning out. No bullshit.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:18 AM ^
I think I agree. Worst case scenario in my mind is that Michigan ends up as the 1 playing Bama or Georgia as the 4. I feel pretty confident that the committee is going to make tradition / nostalgia happen and it's going to be Michigan vs Oregon or Washington in the Rose Bowl.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:59 PM ^
Fuck Iowa
November 26th, 2023 at 12:36 AM ^
The football gods already did, have you seen their offense?
November 26th, 2023 at 1:00 AM ^
What’s important to remember is Iowa scored more points this year than MSU.
November 26th, 2023 at 7:41 AM ^
I had to look this up because I thought there was no way. MSU 191 (108 in Conference). Iowa 216 (131 in Conference). Mind blowing.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:04 PM ^
Fuck Ohio.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:37 PM ^
The only proper response for the rest of the night, I was going to come in here and say the same thing
November 25th, 2023 at 11:47 PM ^
Go Blue. Forever.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:05 PM ^
Beat Iowa.
And enough teams win that OSU is left out.
I could name teams I’d prefer to play, but that doesn’t mean a thing; last year I wanted TCU.
Win the games. Win them big. Win them all.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:10 PM ^
This right here all day. Looks like it may be a circus with the other matchups next weekend.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:14 PM ^
Please don’t make me listen to the 2022 narrative where OSU ‘deserved’ to be in the playoffs because their only loss was to a good Michigan team. They lost to another playoff team they should be done, out, finished.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:35 PM ^
This times a million
November 25th, 2023 at 11:39 PM ^
Yes. This was their playoff game and they lost. Hit the road.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:58 PM ^
The worst part was that USC was ahead of them but because they got to play in a game osu couldn't qualify for and lost, somehow that was worse.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:10 AM ^
I don’t see a path for them this year thankfully
November 25th, 2023 at 11:05 PM ^
If Texas wins, they are in, assuming Oregon beats UW and fsu loses.
georgia
michigan
oregon
Texas
November 26th, 2023 at 12:09 AM ^
I like this. Texas is out if all the favorites win or if Oregon wins. But FSU looks week
Assuming Michigan wins they are in
Georgia is likely to beat Bama but if they don’t we may see no SEC team in the playoffs. They cannot pick Georgia over Bama in that case and they cannot pick Bama over a one loss Texas
The winner of Washington vs Oregon is in and Oregon is the best one loss team in the country. They may be the best team in the country over the last month.
FSU looks week and could go down to a losing Louisville. If they do they are out.
I bet It goes like this:
1) Michigan (based on Ohio win and dominating Iowa)
2) Georgia
3) Oregon
4) Texas
Michigan vs Oregon for the championship
November 26th, 2023 at 12:31 AM ^
If Michigan beats Iowa, and the spread is 22 points, then the Wolverines would have beaten three 10-win teams in the last four games and another with 7 wins, three of them on the road and one neutral site in the case of the Hawkeyes.
And three of those four wins would have been without their head coach while beating those ranked teams including NO. 2 which no other school has done this season except Michigan. There is no reason Michigan shouldn't be ranked as the best team in the nation.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:37 AM ^
I like the cut of your jib.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:12 AM ^
I like this. Texas is out if all the favorites win. But FSU looks week
Assuming Michigan wins they are in at the top
If FSU wins out they bump Texas out
If Bama beats Georgia then an undefeated FSU and a one loss Texas should be in.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:34 AM ^
We have to play them all next year, regardless. Michigan against everybody.
November 26th, 2023 at 1:38 AM ^
I live in Oregon, gonna be ready to rep the good guys out here if that happens
November 26th, 2023 at 12:13 AM ^
I think this is most likely outcome.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:06 PM ^
Nah... I want Washington and FSU to win, and meet Georgia in the championship game for the rematch. Got to put those "beat Georgia" drills to good use.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:06 PM ^
No osu no matter what!!!
November 26th, 2023 at 7:49 AM ^
I really don't want them backing in after losing The Game 2 years in a row.
November 26th, 2023 at 9:19 AM ^
Not true. If the following happens, I could see them in as #4:
Georgia beats Alabama
Michigan beats Iowa
Washington beats Oregon
Louisville beats FSU
Texas could win or lose and they might put OSU in over them but likely not bc they'd have a better resume with same losses. If they lose though....buckeye charity invite would be in play.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:06 PM ^
we are at ryan crying his way back to oiho to change his diapers
November 25th, 2023 at 11:08 PM ^
Assuming Michigan goes to the CFP:
- I want Washington to beat Oregon and to meet Michigan at the Rose Bowl. I like Michigan's chances against Washington. Oregon is well-schemed and talented. I view Washington as a less-talented Ohio State.
- I want FSU out. That's too easy a win for Georgia. Texas would make them expend some of that playbook and practice time.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:14 PM ^
if Louisville beats FSU and Ok State beats Texas then Ohio State can get in
November 25th, 2023 at 11:22 PM ^
That is a tough one for me. How in the hell you put a team that didn't even play a championship game in there. I know it has happened before. But FSU should be in over OSU even if they lose.
November 26th, 2023 at 8:04 AM ^
if Louisville beats FSU and Ok State beats Texas then Ohio State can get in
Not if Alabama beats Georgia.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:37 PM ^
Washington is more like a poor man's 2022 OSU. Penix has been about as good as Stroud was, but the receivers aren't quite as good and the defense is just meh.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:05 AM ^
Good call.
That said, not sure how they get past Oregon, again.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
I’d rather play Washington in the semis as opposed to Oregon, or even Texas. Washington has good receivers but they aren’t any better than Ohio St’s. Washington doesn’t run the ball very often and their defense isn’t as good as Oregon.
FSU would be my first choice, Washington my second. Texas would be my third choice to play and then Oregon fourth. We aren’t going to play Georgia in round one either way.
November 26th, 2023 at 12:39 AM ^
"Washington has good receivers but they aren’t any better than Ohio St’s."
The only difference is that Washington's QB is better than the osu QB.
We need to play whomever, and win.
(Not criticizing you.)
November 26th, 2023 at 1:40 AM ^
Oregon should have won the first meeting with Washington.
The Ducks fans here were pretty unhappy about Lanning's calls during that game.
I don't see Washington beating Oregon a second time
November 25th, 2023 at 11:59 PM ^
Washington has a better offense and worse defense than osu
November 26th, 2023 at 12:03 AM ^
Better quarterback for sure. Their wide receivers aren’t any better. Ohio St has better running backs as well. They play in a defense is optional league so their numbers get inflated. Watched them several games this year and they don’t impress me that much.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:12 PM ^
Give me chalk. Bama can sit their asses at home, and I don’t want OSU backing in again. I think we can handle Penix or an FSU with no QB1, and we owe Georgia a rematch.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:12 PM ^
OSU can't sneak in this year. Last year they did because they had better records than other conference champs.
Michigan will have a better record than OSU regardless of Iowa outcome.
The SEC champ will have a better record than OSU.
The Pac12 champ will have a better record than OSU.
The ACC champ will have a better record than OSU.
.....
Texas will likely win and thus have a better record than OSU.
If Georgia loses they're the back to back defending Champs (pressure to let them in to defend) and both they and Alabama would have better records than OSU.
.....
In a major conference 12-1 > 11-1
Sorry OSU, your door is shut.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:16 PM ^
if Texas and FSU lose and UGA, Michigan and Washington win, Ohio State is likely in
13-0 UGA, Michigan & Washington in
11-1 Ohio State
11-2 Louisville - conf champ
10-3 Ok State - conf champ
11-2 Texas - not conf champ
12-1 FSU - not conf champ
Ohio State gets in
November 25th, 2023 at 11:20 PM ^
I still say: Fuck Ohio.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:25 PM ^
FSU played an additional game. OSU was sitting on their asses
November 25th, 2023 at 11:28 PM ^
Crap. My bad. I thought Louisville was 11-1 right now.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:40 PM ^
OSU needs FSU, Texas, Oregon and Alabama to lose to make it. FSU, Texas and Oregon will all be favored and Texas should be a double digit favorite I would think. It’s not impossible, but the Suckeyes aren’t making it
November 26th, 2023 at 8:09 AM ^
Agree except maybe OSU needing Oregon to lose. A 12-1 Washington (only loss in CCG) v. 11-1 OSU is an interesting choice.
November 25th, 2023 at 11:42 PM ^
12-1 FSU >>> 11-1 OSU
