Can we please move on to Basketball and Hockey coverage on here?

Hockey was insanely good today! Bball recruiting: #1 in the country! I am down with this new focus.

Hockey had a dynamite game today. Basketball is hopefully starting real soon.

Loved watching hockey! My self-imposed black out of college football this season has been great. Can’t wait for basketball.

There won't be a basketball season until March due to Covid.
November 15th, 2020 at 1:13 AM ^
Wrong, starting soon!
November 15th, 2020 at 12:51 AM ^
Yes please.
better than football, Covid and politics

Rest assured that one or more of those will end up in any basketball or hockey thread. It only took 3 posts to this one before someone mentioned covid and basketball cancelation. Football is misery for me right now so I'm trying to find some upbeat sports topics.

The Masters? Different this year but it is still the Masters. Trying to help my friend.

Sure but then I can't vent for my own personal sanity otherwise I'll go to the bottle and who knows where else from there

Yes please

They need to release our basketball schedule. The dang season can start in 10 days.
November 15th, 2020 at 1:16 AM ^
Yes. I'd rather have my hopes and dreams crushed with another sport

This site does need to change focus until we have a championship level football team.
It has worn us all down with the hype which turns out to be total bullshit.
Too many years, too long. Everyone is tired of it. Let's get to the winning teams and programs willing to do what it takes to compete for championships.
Money should stop flowing to the football program until they decide to start winning.
And this should go to the top of the University.

"Money should stop flowing to the football program until they decide to start winning"
I don't think defunding Michigan football is the solution to making Michigan football more competitive

This site needs to hire a new writer if they want to focus on basketball. No offense to Brian, Ace, and Seth, but their coverage of it is, well, not great. Not just in representation, but just knowledge of the game. Ability to properly analyze film and advanced stats. It works fine when it’s a background sport to the blog, but it shouldn’t really be that anymore. Now I’m not sure if it’s even feasible to hire someone else, so maybe this is a moot point.

Go to UMHoops for that -- Dylan is awesome, and he has his own website that's doing really well. Mgoblog is great at what they do, doing more in a sport they aren't experts is never going to compete directly with Dylan anyway.

Someone once told me their Michigan fandom is a religion. I think it’s more of a sickness. There isn’t one Michigan fan right now who can be positive about what’s happening with this football team. Even Cody who checked in Herbstreet to his hotel was upset. So to answer your question, yes, please, let’s close this chapter on Michigan football and move on to bball season. I have a feeling Covid will delay that for us though...

Just constrain football coverage all the way down to Brian writing a recap column, and then devote all other resources to hockey and football.
November 15th, 2020 at 6:23 AM ^
Hockey and basketball are great but everyone knows which sport pays the bills on this site.
November 15th, 2020 at 7:57 AM ^
It should be basketball. The basketball program has achieved heights the football program can only dream of at this point.
November 15th, 2020 at 8:25 AM ^
This site would be a whole lot better with some real basketball analysis. Outside of Matt D doing recruiting posts this sites writers don’t have the capability to cover basketball correctly.
November 15th, 2020 at 10:00 AM ^
I dont know any site that has any real inside knowledge and coverage of Michigan basketball, do you?
November 15th, 2020 at 10:53 AM ^
Are you serious? UMHoops.com?
November 15th, 2020 at 10:37 AM ^
I already have. No more football posts for me this season, except for coaching candidates.
Not watching, not posting. I hung in for the RR shitshow and the Hoke shitshow -- I'm not doing it again.
But bring on basketball and hockey!!
