Would people be okay with selfie sticks if they were called "hey I'm not going to bug you to take a picture of me and my group, I'll do it myself" sticks? I get the feeling that most of the people complaining are just annoyed by the idea of a 'selfie' or people who post 'selfie' pics and the narcissism that is attributed to those actions. The devices are actually very useful when there is nobody else around to take pics of you and your significant other - or when you don't want to bother anyone else to take pics of you and your significant other. How many times have you had a stranger take a picture of your group and it turns out horrible? You rarely ask them to do it again. My wife and I used one during our Hawaiian vacation and our pictures were fantastic. Completely worth the $20. Haven't used it since, but I completely see the practicality in them.

...freaking water from the big house years ago, and water is something that I understand to be essential for human life.  Seems like bans of selfie sticks, drones, food, shelter and clothing should have happened a lot sooner.

I didn't realize until CMA Fest this year in Nashville that "selfie sticks" were something us 99%'ers used. I had just assumed it was a 1%'er celebrity type of purchase.

Selfie sticks are for douche bags and tourists in Hawaii from other continents. Hate them as much as 'selfies' themselves ...[cue John Oliver segment on 'That's not a Selfie, someone else took it"]

"drones" are already banned from major stadiums with like a 5 mile radius no fly zone... now I can't physically carry my drone in the stadium? seems pointless. oh and f*** selfie sticks that's a win.
