Braylon's gonna Bray.

Minny is a good school, and I am glad to see that this kid gets a Big Ten scholarship. Good luck, young man!

Eh, I think Kill has them on an upward swing, the freshman QB is impressive and Kill's offense at NIU was deadly with a mobile QB, could be a great fit for Berkley, plus this way he doesn't have to deal with the wrath of the AIRBHG or deal with the tire fire that is the Cal team right now.

Not as mad as Braylon is right now.

No Little Brown Jug for you, Berkley. That said, welcome to the B10!

That was a quality post. I literally laughed out loud.

You do realize I was downvoting myself haha
November 30th, 2012 at 8:01 AM ^
You weren't the only one downvoting yourself haha
I understand the available numbers for scholarships was at least partially responsible for the non-offer, but I'm still disappointed Berkeley won't be wearing the right kind of block M. Braylon has no doubt acted like a jerk in the past, but I don't fault him for his response here. Most people would have the same reaction when it comes to family.
November 30th, 2012 at 10:30 AM ^
It's more of an upside down block "W"

Downvoted for calling someone a "tool" and completely missing the joke. People in glass houses and all that stuff.

Rabble Rabble Rabble take away Braylon's Michigan Man ID, how dare he say question Michigan's judgement he's so ungrateful Rabble Rabble Rabble

Can't blame Braylon for being upset for his brother not getting a Michigan offer.

no thank you.

I get sticking up for your family and all, but why do it at the expense of your alma mater? Either he is good enough to earn a scholarship from Michigan or he is not. I think Hoke has earned a little bit of deference on this.
November 30th, 2012 at 2:10 PM ^
in my experience, it's normal for students at small branch campuses to cheer for the main campus' sports teams... ie. at UM-Dearborn, they (used to?) do a Go Blue friday thing where people wear Michigan gear, etc.
so what I'm wondering is... at IUPUFW, do people go for IU or Purdue or some unholy combination of both?
November 29th, 2012 at 11:21 PM ^
Congrats to Berkley, getting a full ride to any D1 school is a great accomplishment.
As for Braylon, really classy. If your little brother is such a "beast", how come his best offer is Minnesota?
Nepostism is rarely a good thing.
November 30th, 2012 at 11:36 AM ^
that's the way i've always felt about all this, if this kid was a 5* and he actually merited an offer i don't think it would have been an issue. it just felt like braylon was trying to strongarm the coaches into getting his little brother into a school above his level of play would warrant.
November 30th, 2012 at 1:56 PM ^
Nepostism: Supporting your family on the internet usually shows loyalty, which is a good thing, except for when you get crass, vengeful and bitter on their behalf.
Nepotism, on the other hand, can mean you may have to fire your father after hiring him.

November 30th, 2012 at 11:23 AM ^
...Braylon is going to pay for it, then Berkley would have to wear #1 and...well...let's not go there.
November 29th, 2012 at 11:28 PM ^
Getting a B1G scholarship is nothing to downgrade. As for Braylon I think he has a point, Michigan preaches family, and there is a solid connection from Braylon and his dad. I wonder if Michigan offered a prefered walk-on if Berkley would have taken it... Seems like no offer was out there at all.
November 29th, 2012 at 11:47 PM ^
If you've got Dennis Norfleet on your roster, you don't need Berkley Edwards.
November 30th, 2012 at 12:45 AM ^
on your roster, as a freshman who just beat Notre Dame, you're in pretty good shape for the next 4 years.
November 30th, 2012 at 5:22 AM ^
...and Justice Hayes.
November 29th, 2012 at 11:58 PM ^
We have 3 5 star players left on our board, two of whom are rated number 1 at their positions by some. I don't think we have room for a solid connection. Braylon clearly doesn't follow recruiting as close as we do. What a loser...
November 30th, 2012 at 12:37 AM ^
Joe Montana's son Nate (who we're in contact with) had to walk on at ND. Braylon was huge for Michigan and had great success in 2A and in the NFL, but not like Joe Montana. Of course, Bray could've bought his bro an education and he could've walked on and earned a spot if it was so important to him.
November 30th, 2012 at 12:39 AM ^
The Montana that UM is reportedly in contact with is Nick Montana, who was highly-recruited to Washington. He is not the same person as Nate Montana, who walked on at ND.
Your point is still well-taken, however.
November 30th, 2012 at 10:04 AM ^
I think Michigan should have at least offered a preferred walk-on spot to him (if they didn't already). But from the sound of how salty Bralyon is, I'm almost glad we didn't. If we had to offer every single kid and/or brother of a great player, we would be full of very average players.

Yeah, I could have had a ride to Minnesota, but decided on a ride to Ann Arbor instead.
Of course, my ride was in the passenger seat of the family Chrysler Le Baron.

Braylon needs to stop being a bitch.
November 29th, 2012 at 11:43 PM ^
I am happy for Berk, but Braylon is way too salty. If he doesn't deserve an offer, then that is what it is.
November 30th, 2012 at 12:20 AM ^
Unless Braylon deleted some of those tweets, they really aren't that bad. Plus, he tweeted this to follow up: "Don't take my tweets the wrong way Michigan fans and alums I'm still a proud supporter and love Michigan. Just saying my brother is a beast."
There are a lot of reasons to be irritated by Braylon. Him advocating for his brother is way, way down on that list for me. Blood runs thick.
November 29th, 2012 at 11:47 PM ^
Opinion he's a better player than some of our recruits. Blood over school any day sorry

We are one of the most elite programs. We can't offer every legacy player, we have way way too many of them. If he really wanted to play at Michigan he could have walked on and earned a scholarship at some point maybe. Best of luck at Minnesota.
November 30th, 2012 at 12:28 AM ^
For those without the twitters, here is his most salty bit by far.
Oh well Minnesota just got one hell of a talent and hard worker, don't be surprised if he tears the maze and blue a new a$$hole soon.
