Just need to take care of our business and the rankings will sort themselves out. Don’t necessarily care where we’re ranked as long as we have a March Madness seed in a few months (can’t believe how soon it is).

Mid season basketball polls have as much to do with Michigan getting or not getting an NCAA bid as Mgo points do here.

They redefine the word meaningless.

Yep this is the point in the season when voters aren't capable of making smart comparisons of one teams 20+ games vs another teams so they pretty much go by losses.

I will say, without Livers Michigan probably is a borderline top 40 team.  So if that's how someone voted vs assessing M's overall resume, 39th is potentially justified.

In addition to 25th in kenpom, M is also 25th in Torvik and most importantly 31st in NET.  Those are obviously rankings that use the full season so they blend with and without Livers.

This is a really rational take. If we make the tournament and managed to win one game, given the current roster make up and the coaching change, it would be hard to call this season a failure. Not necessarily an overwhelming success, but certainly a decent season.

Like they say, win baby win! Get this 3rd win in row and Michigan gets closer to being ranked. It doesn't really matter that much to me of not being ranked. Just beat Ohio State tonight.
