Brandon's latest tweet (re)confirms Denard staying
DaveBrandonAD Dave BrandonGreat first day for our new coach--saw 20+ players and Denard is staying! The Team, The Team, The Team!!!

Denard is a team leader and it would be a reflection on the state of program if he transferred.
January 13th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
Not only a team leader, but a Heisman contender, star player, Big Ten OPOY, First team All-American, face of the program, starting quarterback, etc. Denard was the biggest positive last year and he has the potential to be next year.

When was the "Team" speech given?
January 14th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
I couldn't find the year from googling it. I think like 1980 or so. But here's a youtube of it (audio only, duh)

hope this is true. Can't wait to hear SHOELACE confirm it.GO BLUE!!!

Our AD tweets and has a self-glossed blog. Wow, he's got an ego.
January 13th, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
He's everywhere.

A contractor I know is currently working on enlarging all the doorways in Brandon's residence. He was having increasing trouble getting his head through, and the extra 12" will enable Dave's humongous noggin to fit.

what kind of offense does Hoke run? Standard pro set or something like it but with a twist. I have no idea.

I for one am excited to see Denard hand it off on the zone left!

two more years of wearing the dread wig to keep my wife interested.

but i'll stop worrying about denard transferring when he's recognized at senior day

Time for a new banner that doesn't make our coach look like a fool, Brian. PLEASE.
January 13th, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
Why exactly is Brandon tweeting this? Let either Denard or Hoke make this statement. Brandon needs to learn to GTFO of the spotlight.
January 13th, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
He did. Hoke already made the statement during an interview earlier.
January 13th, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
I wouldn't have a problem with Denard playing at RB and returning kicks. Assuming DG was a better fit at QB in the offense Hoke wants to run and Denard can be convinced to do so.
He'd still be a top Heisman contender and that would likely be where he'd end up in the pros anyway. It might be a better spot for him to showcase the skills that would be most desirable at the next level.
Neg away.
January 13th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
just, boooo.
Why wouldn't you want him with his hands on the ball every single snap? He can run without the need to time a handoff. Hoke needs to roll him out so he can see the field, but he will be fine.
January 14th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
If that's what's best for the team (first) and Denard (second) I'm all for it.
On the off chance that it isn't *gasp*...

I think this word was invented to describe Dave Brandon. I love Hoke already, but Brandon is just a giant prick. I'm pretty sure he's still patting himself on the back at the podium in the press room.
Also, great news.

I think he's just a guy who's used to operating behind a veil of corporate secrecy/privacy. He's still adjusting to the whole public-arena thing. He'll be alright.
