CC Rumor: Gruden interviewing?
January 8th, 2011 at 5:32 PM ^
simply because it gives me something to do with my Saturday while sitting in the midst of a northwest Indiana snowstorm.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
My guess is that Brandon is searching for the next Bo.
Jon Gruden is not the next Bo.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:49 PM ^
There is only one Bo; but there is also only one Chucky.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:39 PM ^
Neither is Hoke assuming the next Bo does not have a Michigan background just like the first.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:41 PM ^
Why do you feel the need to post negative comments everytime Gruden is brought up? He must've fucked your mom.
January 8th, 2011 at 7:17 PM ^
He is everywhere and he will fuck anything.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
Seriously? Gruden?
Ok....when is the Cower is interviewing Bullshit rumor going to surface. This is embarrassing.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
...If you think UM has any chance of getting Jon Gruden.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
...but it's fun to think about it.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:37 PM ^
BULL SHIT.
Also anyone who says Gruden would not be an amazing college coach is crazy.
If fat Wies can recruit by flashing super bowl rings and doing his "im fat, im not going to say im fat, i dont talk about myself, but im fat, i dont want to make this about me but, becasue i dont make things about me, but me me me." rutine, im pretty sure Chucky can get the job done, he would be like pete carol at USC but way way way way way better.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
Congrats on making it to four digits in the points column!
January 8th, 2011 at 6:00 PM ^
Pretty sure that Weis recruited so well by simply threatening to eat anyone who did not come to ND
January 8th, 2011 at 6:00 PM ^
Really? Anyone who has some questions about a guy who's never coached college ball (except for 12 minutes as a position coach in the early 90s) is nuts?
January 8th, 2011 at 6:06 PM ^
If people are trying to talk themselves out of hiring a ridiculously popular and charismatic young coach who won a Super Bowl in Tampa and made the Raiders (the Raiders, remember them, with Al Davis running that clusterfuck into the ground) into one of the best teams in football as an NFL head coach then there is something wrong.
There are more questions marks about nearly every other human being on the planet.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:17 PM ^
a Gruden fanboy, but people can have other opinions. I personally don't think we have a chanace in hell and it's embarrassing that our fan base is arrogant enough to think we could land him when he's turned down everyone else.
Plus, just becasue he was great in the NFL doesn't mean he can coach college. See PItt.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:23 PM ^
You think Dave Wannstedt was "great in the NFL."
Game. Set. Match.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:36 PM ^
I say that? Fail.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:43 PM ^
In your last two sentences -1
January 8th, 2011 at 6:25 PM ^
Dave Wannstedt was not a great or even a good NFL coach. That being said, the fact that our fanbase honestly seems to think that we could get Gruden is very telling and not in a positive light.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
for 15 years before coming back and has A&M playing pretty good, minus the game last night.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:06 PM ^
1) A single example does not prove a point. I could site a dozen opposing examples.
2) Mike Sherman had previously been a college coach.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:15 PM ^
What web cite would you be using to sight these examples?
January 8th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
I hear Terry Bowden's interviewing.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
I want Bobby Bowden. Then I can recreate that insurance commercial and go touch someone that looks like him.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
I love Bobby Bowden. I actually may have saved his life in Brazil last spring, no joke.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:53 PM ^
i want to hear this story......
January 8th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
Ah, yes. That was you. Meeting him on a flight to Brazil, and telling him to put his jewelry/ championship rings away right? That's pretty cool.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:01 PM ^
We need details.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
What about Bobby? He's tanned, rested and ready! No sense going for the acorn when the entire tree is at your disposal.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
Who would you rather have:
1. Terry Bowden
2. Tommy Bowden
3. Bobby Bowden
4. A chalkboard eraser
5. Brady Hoke
Discuss.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:52 PM ^
4.
and a tall glass of Bookers neat
January 8th, 2011 at 6:02 PM ^
nothing else will do at this point.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:22 PM ^
Every bottle of that helps support OSU.
January 8th, 2011 at 8:06 PM ^
Yep. I have refused to drink it since they put up that bullshit 20 story ad in Columbus. Make mine a Basil Hayden's. Neat as well.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
I'm intrigued by this chalkboard eraser. The crucial question: Is it a "Michigan Eraser"?
January 8th, 2011 at 5:56 PM ^
I'd have to know who the eraser was likely to hire to fill out its coaching staff.
January 8th, 2011 at 6:16 PM ^
The chalk eraser would get pwned by a dry eraser running the Oregon spread.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:52 PM ^
But he's so fat.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
Gruden did contact U of M (Miami) for their recent opening.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/11/28/jon-gruden-named-as-mia…
January 8th, 2011 at 6:15 PM ^
I believe Miami goes by "U-M".
January 8th, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
According to Michigan's branding website, we actually go by "U-M." http://www.logos.umich.edu/
January 8th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
Ha! Just noticed the latest banner change.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
nothing like a little head asplosion to spruce up the site.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:54 PM ^
I like that it looks like Miles is wincing and turning his head to avoid the shrapnel of grey matter and bone shards. Seems about right.
Six Zero, you da man.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
I've seen the Cleveland rumor as well. I think he stays pro.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
...is Cleveland sexier than Michigan? That franchise has been stuck in neutral for decades.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
Hey now....no need to bring my Browns' futility into this conversation. The only reason Gruden has been mentioned is because he was a Michigan fan growing up and he said off the record that Michigan is his dream job.....Mind you, he also grew up a Browns fan.
January 8th, 2011 at 5:49 PM ^
I thought off the record, everyone's dream job was Notre Dame?
January 8th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
Just Lou Holtz...or is that on the record? I can never remember.
