Navel Gazing on Replacement Coaches
I personally think RichRod is coming back. But if I'm wrong I think Brandon has a few names in mind beyond Jim Harbaugh. Given that I have far too much time on my hands, I came up with these two names: Dan Mullen, an Urban Meyer protegee, and Al Golden who has accomplished the impossible at Temple.
I know...I know. Not big names. Not the high impact kind of guy the Michigan job should attract. Well, I would take Bielema right now since he is basically running the Bo formula at Wisconsin to great effect. And who the hell was he before he got hired? Tressel was a Division 2 head coach for heavens sake! And if you really want to see something, check out Chip Kelly's resume.

If osu has played a dan mullen or al golden coached team and scored less than 37 points we should hire one of them!!1!

Dan Mullen did OC the Florida team that pants'ed OSU in 2006. For my money, he's the best choice if a change is made--I have one dollar to contribute.

Look how that worked for OSU.

*****THIS IS AN IMPORTANT POST TO READ BECAUSE IT'S 'THE' TRUTH*****
#1) Michigan is NOT Jim Harbaugh's 'dream job.' He wants an NFL job, because him and his brother are so competitive. SD, SF, Oak and Car (and maybe even Dal and Min) are all going to be fighting over him this off-season.
#2) Dave Brandon is going to be doing absolutely everything he can to convince him to come to Michigan over the next month.
#3) In all likelihood, Rich Rod will be brought back (signing a two year extension after the bowl game), and Greg Robinson will be replaced (along with the 3-3-5). Ron English is supposedly an early DC candidate.

sigh.....this is getting tiring and now my brain hurts.
November 30th, 2010 at 11:38 AM ^
and half expected a photoshop involving Brandon gazing at Harbaugh's and Rodriguez navels. This is what we've come to.

on that navel and I'll puke, for sure.

Is it fuzzy?
November 30th, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
Get Harbaugh just for those abs. /s
And the comment about Bielema. Just no. He'd never be offered the job because Michigan doesn't hire douchy coaches.

I'm confused as to why we're staring at coaches' bellybuttons. Can someone explain that to me?
November 30th, 2010 at 12:17 PM ^
I guess if the belly button is internal he is a defensive minded coach and if it is an exterior belly button, he is an offensive minded coach???

I can't figure out why I can't stay away from this site for more than 5 minutes. I am like some sort of addict, I think. I know that I am going to see things like this, that are not pleasant, but I come back for more.
There should be a 12 step program to help people like me avoid the board for more than 12 minutes.

if anyone finds a cure, please post.

wait until someone breaks out the flight tracker maps from Palo Alto to Detroit Metro. Then a real diarrhea hurricane will break out.

I would prefer more of an established commodity than a young guy at this point
honestly I would rather see chuck martin as the head coach
somebody who was a total winner albeit at a smaller scale

Bielema. I think i am going to put up a poll looking for suggestions for my very own personal thread. I might even label it OT, whether it is or not. Or not.
November 30th, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
What about Mike Belotti? He did crush Carr's team!
November 30th, 2010 at 12:06 PM ^
I agree, run. But I like the way you think: DAN MULLEN! He is probably the hottest coaching candidate for a very high level program aside from Harbaugh right now.
November 30th, 2010 at 12:08 PM ^
I'm 80% certain he's the next coach at PSU.
I'm addicted to reading these posts. Must...go...do...work

wait, is it 2007 or 2010? This board is playing mind tricks on me.

Kind of be tough to introduce him to our d-line

no one has mentioned Barack Hussein Obama ... yet ! I know he's a basketball guy - but he does support a college football playoff ... (I think its actually IN the heathcare bill !)

Best choice that no one has mentioned is JG. Will be a great recruiter and brings Tampa 2 defense
November 30th, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
...He's established, the "scandal" that resulted in his firing was BS and a case can be made that it was done to the Uni cash on his contract, he's under 50, and he coaches the spread so the offense wouldn't suffer as many transfers. Albeit, his track record on defenses might be *worse* than Rodriquez though he did recruit some surprisingly highly rated defensive recruits out of Texas, which is somewhat surprising considering the amount of fishing for that talent occurs in Texas.
