Can anyone recommend some good hotels in Ann Arbor?
My friend and his better half are coming into town Friday and want to stay in AA that night as he will be attending his 1st game at the Big House on Saturday. Can anyone recommend some good hotels (decent cost + nice accomodations)? Appreciate the help as I am trying to book it for him in the next day or so.

I love the Campus Inn - really great location and great service. But, a bit pricy.

Avoid the Motel 6 on south state.
I've stayed at the courtyard always nice, but probably pricey.
The red roof on south state isn't as bad as you would think they did update their rooms and you get a free breakfast.

Heard Kensington Court is pretty good, around $100 a night and by the freeway/Briarwood Mall.

I've been to Ann Arbor twice and stayed in Kensington for both trips.
Has a decent gym and pool/hot-tub
It is indeed right near the Briarwood and there are numerous places to eat that are nearby.

If they have rooms and it's not too pricey, I'd definetly recommend Kensington Court. It's a very nice place. Your friends can always pick up the bus from the Briarwood parking lot for the game and not have to worry about driving at all.

Campus Inn and Bell Tower Inn are considered the nicest but are of course more expensive. Weber's would be a good choice but is sure to be booked. A spot that might not be full but requires driving to downtown is Hawthorn Suites. It is located at Plymouth and Green roads near US-23 which is somewhat far but should have decent rates and a ton of space per room.

Lots of good options on the Northeast side of town. Microtel, Red roof inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Hawthorne Suites and maybe one or two more I'm forgetting. From least to most expensive probably.

...on Plymouth serves an outstanding California omelette for breakfast. Nice rooms, and there is easy access to North Campus. There is also a plaza with several other dining options and a full service grocer if you head to the right when you turn in the access drive to the Holiday Inn.
Just don't try to make a left onto Plymouth, go out past the BP station to the light on Green Street and be safe.

Inn @ Michigan League if you can get in is awesome, give them a call maybe there has been a cancellation, they usually have a long waiting list for football weekends. We stayed @ Burnt Toast Inn (b&b on William St) for MSU this year and had a great stay there, highly reccomended.

Dark alleyways are good places to sleep in at night.
