I have found our kicker.

To sum it up this guys still in highschool and on a kickoff kicked the ball so hard it went through the upright for a 75 yard field goal. Hes open for playing college football. Sounds good to me.

I'm just glad this isn't yet another thread about the girl kicker.
October 20th, 2010 at 5:59 PM ^
I'd just take his left foot at this point.

I was thinking the same thing:
"Maybe 45 yards," Yang told Carvell. "I don't know, I'm not good enough with that foot yet."

I would have bet money that this thread was going to be about that female kicker again. Glad to see it's something that hasn't been brought up yet.

Yeah, I was ready to unpublish the thread with a "this again?" comment.

The finding of a defense is in process. See Dr. Phillips.

Not only can he kick with both feet, he employs the relatively rare ambidextrous spelling of his first name. Left, right, C, K, - little fucker just wants to have his cake and eat it too, apparently, and no one's stopping him.

force tonight.

Wouldn't it be his parents who wanted it?

Is kidnapping a valid form of recruiting?
October 20th, 2010 at 6:22 PM ^
I think so, as long as the coach doesn't bring him to his house.

if you have him pay for the trip, then you're good to go.

offer him like yesterday

ND commit Kyle Brindza was kicking the ball through the uprights on almost every kickoff when I went to go see Brennen Beyer play (actually, none went through, they were all jut a bit wide).
BTW - high schools kick off from the 40, at least in Michigan.

give this guy a tryout?
October 20th, 2010 at 7:05 PM ^
1. I'm sure almost all our kickers can kick through the uprights from the 40 yard line like in High School off the size tee they get. I watched Phil Brabbs back in the day and he used to put them through the uprights on almost every kickoff. In all reality, it's fine and dandy, but it's not unheard of to have a kid who can kick the ball like that.
2. Is he really ambipedal?
"Kicking left and right foot is about the same, but my left foot is a lot weaker than my right foot."
Sounds like he's right footed. Through the uprights right foot does not equal to the 15 yard line left footed. To the 15 yard line is a 45 yard kick off a tee, which granted, isn't bad, but I know my fair share of high school soccer players that could do that.

First, jdmgoose. Good Luck to your nephew as he explores his options (just start sending him video clips with him embedded kicking field goals for Michigan)
But I wanted to also note, for those who say it is no big deal what he can do, you are underestimating his skills.
I played soccer for 13 years (and have coached for another 20) and no everyone can not simply do this. FWIW, my son has been playing soccer for 6 years now and already has demostrated the gift of a powerful leg. On the positive note, he loves football and Michigan. On the downside, he is only 10, so he won't be able to start doing kick offs and field goals until the 2018 season

his older brother is a starter forward for east tenneseee state, you can check the roster on there website as well, i grew up player soccer as well, perhaps, my knee give up, but when i moved to america, football was the best thing ive ever seen, i moved from france(parents fled to france after the vietnam war) to america during 1991 of november and the 1st game i ever saw was when desmond horward and the pose, thats when i fall in love with fooball, On my nephew he's only an 11th grader, soccer recuits are going a bit crazy, and now football is creating a buzz as well. he would look great in a maize and blue jersey i have admit that.
