Really like how energetic and excited the team looks for practice. Can only mean good things come game day.

I don't know anything about the Tate situation so I am not going to speculate on that besides my gut feeling has been since April that Denard would be getting the majority of the snaps this season.

Devin Gardner looks like he is getting better everyday and it excited me very much. Even though I almost had a heart attack when he slipped on that cement.

Just a quick question. I know this is pure speculation at this point and it is too early to tell. However when they said "the defense got the better of the offense in this drill" I initially got excited thinking about an improved defense but then wondered. Are we still going to struggle inside the red zone this year? Something that plauged us last year.

will DG's redshirt last?

The more I see him play, the more I think RR is going to have a hard time keeping him off the field the first competitive game in which Tate and Denard are both struggling.

Tate and Denard, only YOU can save Devin's redshirt.

The maize jerz look pretty bad here, but two caveats: ~ that's gold, not maize ~ hypothetical real maize jerseys should not be worn with maize pants. I think (real) maize jerseys with blue pants would absolutely rock, say, the ND night game. (maize jerseys on the road would be a waste, but would go best with white pants)

For all speculators, note that Tate is wearing a red jersey.  IIRC this means injured/no contact.  The other QBs are wearing the hideous maize, which I'm guessing is replacing the green jerseys, indicating limited contact.

Accordingly, I wouldn't worry too much about Tate's lack of PT in these clips being a result of some sort of punishment...instead focus your worrying on the severity of whatever his injury might be.

Shiiiiit ... I know it's just practice, but DG looked pretty smooth there.  A hell of a lot smoother than he looked in the Spring Game.

I didn't think it made sense that the QB's wore black jerseys the past couple videos before this one. It only looked slightly different from the blue jerseys worn by the defense. At least the gold/maize for practice is a different color to make them stand out. The black practice unis that the QB's were wearing didn't have the adidas 3 stripes down the side similarly to the gold (they're not adidas / generic).

I can't believe all the guys that are basically throwing him under the bus. Denard is nothing more then a change of pace QB. It is stupid to suggest he  is going to be a good passer. Look at last year, not all the coaching in the world can fix that. He was worse then DEATH.

are reaaaaaally stretching to find a bright side in the lack of Tate in these videos.  The "RR is holding Tate out of practice and acting like he is disciplining him to confuse our opponents!" theory is laughable, IMHO.  There really are only a few possible interpretations here:

1. Tate is in the doghouse and is undergoing some tough love.  The lack of wings indicate this may be true--if it was an equipment issue it surely would have been taken care of by now.  Let's not forget the past comments regarding Tate's work ethic/issues by RR and Troy (which RR did not disclaim).

2. Tate is injured and able to participate.  This is a definite possibility and the Maize = limited contact and red = no contact makes sense.  Also, he had the shoulder injury last year and it probably wouldn't take much to re-injure it.

3. Some of both.

I can't find a positive here.

If I had a definite answer on tate, I'd tell you, but as of right now, I don't. But do realize guys what this video is showing is probably all what the video people had. I highly doubt they were there taping practice for more than 10 or so plays.

Those maize jerseys are ugly.  Let's hope that if Michigan ever uses maize jerseys, they're a different shade/texture of maize than the ones Denard/Gardner are wearing.
