OT - Reddit CFB Risk Update 5/24 - Ann Arbor is Liberated
Last night was a another great night for us as we continued our push into the midwest and back up into the motherland. Somewhat unexpectedly, we were able to reclaim AA and drive Chaos from the region. We are in a great spot now with our foothold in the northeast secure and flanked to the south by our ally Clemson. Those buckeyes, meanwhile, fled away from us to the south like the true scoundrels they are. Long story short, they scurred.

Announcements:
The "Blue Alliance" has been re-dubbed the "Allied Forces" and now consists of Michigan, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Texas. Please refrain from attacking any territories controlled by our allies.
If you are a relatively new reddit user, please check the game page to ensure that you are not being flagged as a bot. If you are flagged you will see a text box like the one below. If you are flagged as a bot, your turns will not assist our chances to win (although you can still accumulate turns so you can level up stars). If you see this box, then follow the hyperlink to fill out the survey, but ALSO message /u/bakonydraco directly on reddit to get the issue sorted out.
Instructions to Join:
To join all you need to do is go to reddit.com/r/cfb and create an account if you don't already have one. Next, set your flair to Michigan. You can do this by clicking "Select Flair" on the right side of the cfb subreddit. Finally, you can join and play the game at https://vote.redditcfb.com/cfbrisk.php.
If you want to discuss the game in deeper detail and strategize with us, you can join our discord server found here: https://discord.gg/TcZBTcj. We usually announce plans of what we want to attack/defend in the evenings, but we discuss strategy all day. Be warned though, there will be a vetting process to join the discord as we have had some mole issues from OSU. Even if you don’t pass the vetting process, we can still provide less-secret instructions in the general chat so that you can still help us towards our goals until we can fully 100% trust you.
Go Blue!
Instructions as to how to play:
At the beginning of the game. Every team was assigned one single territory, and so every territory is now named after that team. When you go to select an action in the game, you'll see option such as:
"Defend Buffalo", "Attack Penn State", "Attack Kent State".
This means that we border the location that was originally assigned to Penn State and Kent State. If you choose to attack Penn State, you will attempt to take that piece of land next round. Defend Buffalo, means that we currently own Buffalo's original homeland, and defending Buffalo means putting your stars towards keeping Buffalo from being taken.
After you submit what you're doing for the day, just sit back at wait! At Midnight EST all of the picks from all of the teams go in, and a random number generator selects a winner for each territory. Then it all happens again tomorrow.

Ready to stop shitposting and start the real fight.
I need to get up to 500 karma to get to 3 stars - that'll take a while... What's your ID on r/cfb? I am BroncoJoe7.
Go blue!
Everytime you post I think Maizen is back.
Same ID! Manic_Magician. I'll send clicks in your direction.
Currently upvoting you like I'm your crazy stalker ex-girlfriend!
Is my timeout on discord over yet?
Alright. This game is super confusing. I got my new orders and it says defend Buffalo. Can someone tell me what the corresponding picture is or point me in the direction of a glossary of some sort so I can figure this out on my own.

it says defend Buffalo because UM currently occupies Buffalo's territory. If you click on Buffalo on the map it will bring up Buffalo's page below the map and you can get a day by day summary of which teams battled over it on any given day. I like to check out what happened the day before in areas of concern for Michigan. Like if a team comes to terms with Michigan I go back and check what they actually did versus what they agreed to do.
Defending Buffalo is easy. It starts by ordering celery and carrots with a side of ranch...
Glass of milk for extreme cases.
I really don't get why they don't at least put alt-text with the team name. Some of us don't know every team's logo in the entire county.
Are you suggesting gun violence against Kent State? Because, too soon, man. Too soon...
Looking at the fight recap there's no way OSU should have been able to take Kent State. We had them outnumbered by a large margin in every star category.
RNGesus' will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven, Amen.
refs... Screwed us again....
We had so many more resources on Kent, they got lucky.
Hopefully we can take Kent without giving up another surrounding territory to Ohio. That would give us a clear front. Then Clemson and Michigan can march south to try and clear out VT, OSU and chaos and help fortify the Alliance.
Are all members of the "Allied Forces" following the same rules?
I was wondering this as well.... I say we take it right back

At what point do you gain a star? I'm a one star overall but have 5 stars on the links explored and 4 stars in the turns taken. The other two categories are 1 star each.
It's a median of all your star rankings. So, you'll need to get one of your other ratings up to two stars. r/CFB karma would be the easiest as I think you only need to get to 50. Or you could just play the game for 10 days to get it on turns played.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't trust them at all. They took Temple last night.
We gave it back to them after accidentally taking it in the first place.
Carry on.
OTMoney on discord
enough.
I get that some people can't stand this game and the updates, but yet I don't see those same people offering up their own daily contributions to what would otherwise be a dreadfully slow OT season around here. Besides, I think enough people are now invested that we really do need to see how this ends.
It is a generational conflict now. The sides have hated each other so long the war has become personal. There is only war in the distant future.
Please help me understand your point of view.
There are plenty of MGoBoard links that I don't click on, because I don't care. Directors Cup? NHL? Wall Street investments? I don't care about those, so I don't click on them, and then post about how I don't care.
Why do you? And other people? Not being an ass, just want to understand.
Tell me your preferred verbiage and I'll make it happen (as long as it won't confuse other people that get that assignment).
