Personally I belive they didn't fully appreciate JT Barret and his legs.  In a UMF offense, QB legs have been shown to be more important than QB throws.  Many a time I watched OSU football where the QB had no options to throw it to and still burned a defense with QB legs.  It could be 3rd down and 19 and off JT runs for 19 yards...

OSU will win games but I am not bullish on them to win the BIG or make it to the playoffs.  Haskins is good but once teams have film on him the story is going to be VERY different.

is he doesn't make throws on schedule and is a see it thrower instead of throwing with anticipation.  JT is often a beat late on his reads which is why OSU fans are frustrated with him.

Yes, it's nice that he can run but OSU offense looks out of sorts in the last few seasons and JT is part of the reason why.

said that OSU offense is so explosive and efficient because they had so much talent and athleticism that they destroy teams but the offense never seem to flow as well as you think they would based on stats.

Their biggest passing struggles is mostly on JT Barrett and I've seen him hold onto ball too long because he's unsure of what he's seeing unless they're wide open. That's also a biggest problem with Denard. When OSU face against elite defense, they struggled because they need their passing game to get it going in which they couldn't under Barrett.

There is a reason why JT Barrett went undrafted.

very true.  Also, the offense was way too predictable because of JTB's limitations.  He is in the pantheon of Buckeyes, but the limitations were maddening.  Michigan beats Ohio State last year if JTB doesn't get hurt.  Ohio State beats Wisky 42-10 and passes the 2017 CFP "eye test" if Haskins started the Big Ten championship game.  He doesn't miss two wide open WRs down field, doesn't throw the gift to the Wisky LB on his own 8 yard line, and doesn't miss Dobbins on the screen with 70 yards of open field in front of him. JTB was a warrior, but there are multiple reasons he didn't get drafted.

But I'm very concerned about the lack of depth behind Haskins.

OSU failed the eye-test for the CFP in a night game in Iowa. Getting shellacked (by a mediocre team no less) ensured that. The precedent was set the previous year when the committee by passed PSU(B1G champs) in favor of OSU. (Who then proved they didn't deserve to be there by getting embarrassed by ‘Bama) Little bit of Karma there.

Ohio State was embarrassed by Clemson in a game called by your current O line coach. But I understand why a Michigan fan would be confused. That’s the closest you guys will get. Hell, even Sparty has made it to the CFP. I do agree that PSU deserved the CFP in 2016, unfortunately for them (a) the Committee is hung up on two losses and (b) most of their D was injured for their game with you guys.

BTW, per Danny Kanell today on ESPNU radio, Haskins is a more proven QB than Patterson.  Yes, he said that.

Of course, this is also the guy who proclaimed "Peppers faked an injury to get out of the Orange Bowl" nonstop, so his take on anything Michigan is . . . complete and utter sh**.

As well. The kid wasn’t very loyal w his commitments in the past. See the other 2 schools he verbally committed to as well before finally choosing OSU. I could see Martell heading out back West to a Washington St or ASU.... just my thoughts, as he is not gonna sit for 2-3 years and be quiet as that’s not his MO or his families......
