The CJ Baird honorary Friday Posbang

Submitted by Nobody Likes a… on

It’s Friday, everyone’s tired from last night and somewhere in LA John Beilein is into hour 6 of watching FSU tape.

I think that, for me, C.J. Baird's shot might have been the most exciting single moment in the game in a way, since he's someone you know of but never thought you would see, much less in this situation. On top of that, he makes an awesome shot and gets what is probably one of the loudest cheers of the game. Very cool.

For both of the players with points.  You train your entire young lives and make a great team with a great coach.  The other guys were heavily recruited but you are the one who has to work hard to just stay on the roster.  The moment comes for you and you do not waste it.  The bench erupts and a stadium filled with Mgofans explodes.  That was the tears of happiness moment from this grizzled, old fan.

When was the last time, if ever, Michigan had 8 different players hit a three in a game?

What a fun game!  Cackling with glee with the way the threes were raining down!

Bang me sweet lil Wolverine, and come back for more!

Happy for CJ, and everyone associated with the program.  Hope they feel even half as good as I do right now.

I scouted Baird last year at Catholic Central and recommended him to a few NAIA/D3 coaches as a bully ball SG with range (essentially a D3 version of Robby Carmody). CJ ended up with a few offers from those type of schools but turned it down to take the academic route at Michigan............I'd say its worked out pretty well for him.

But I grew up with his sister. He was the super tall kid, always smiling, even though he was like 3 years younger he was always just as tall as me. I remember when he was like 4 and his mom always brought him around our class. Small world we live in.
