Lunardi still has Michigan on the 6 line.

Bracket Matrix agrees.

However, I decided to post this tonight because Rhode Island is getting DESTROYED at home by the 13-15 St. Joseph Hawks. That's an absolutely catastrophic loss for a team with basically 0 big wins. This type of loss could cost them a couple of seed lines.

There's no way we don't move up to a 5 after what happened to Rhode Island tonight right? If we don't then it just proves that bracketologists hate us.

It's ridiculous. They have been on an absolute free fall, and haven't looked good doing so. No team that has only won 3 out of their last 13(!) games deserves to be considered firmly in the field. They might play Iowa State in back to back games here, if they lose either of them, they should absolutely miss the field.

How does the region selection work?

Any chance we're given the West region? I'm a greedy LA alum who wants a Sweet Sixteen appearance by the Wolverines in the Staples Center lol.

There's absolutely a chance that Michigan will be put in the west region.  The bracketing process is basically to start with the S-Curve you want.  In theory, the top #1 seed gets the closest eligible region (you can't appear in a region if you're the host or you played more than 3 home games in that arena during the season).  In a league with no western #1 seeds, the West is likely to get the #4 overall seed (weakest #1), along with the #5 overall seed (strongest #2).

Additionally, unless a conference has 9 or more teams in the tournament, they won't schedule two teams from the same conference in the same half of a region; if the 1 seed is from the Big Ten, there won't be another Big Ten team as #16, 8, 9, 4, 13, 5, or 12 in that region.

If you think Michigan is a #4/5 seed, and you're trying to get them to LA, you want them as either the strongest 4 seed or the weakest 5 seed, and you don't want either MSU or Purdue to be the weakest #1 seed.  If you think they're a 6 seed, you want them as the strongest 6 seed with neither MSU nor Purdue as the strongest #2 seed.

loses again.  91-82 to the Hogs.  That was predictable.  They suck - they really do.  That makes 3 losses in their last 4 games, none to Top 25 teams.  How many more losses does it take for these bracketolgy geniuses to realize that Auburn does not belong among the top 4 seeds?

CBS still has them at a #2 seed - idiots.

They are heading down to 5/6 seed territory.  Michigan clearly - CLEARLY - better than them.

Illuminating night for the wannabes Rhode Island, Alabama and Auburn.  Bring on the serious teams!
