Dantonio: I've Done Nothing Wrong and I'm Not Retiring
Dantonio just read a statement at the Breslin Center saying, of course, that he did nothing wrong, that he's a great guy, and that he runs a clean program. He then took a direct question, asking if he was retiring, and he said no.
Did not address any specific allegations in the ESPN story, of course.
Pride comes before the fall. Dantonio still thinks he's in the "pride" phase.

I'll tell you that Jim Harbaugh, drunk off his ass, sexually assaulted and hit a coed 3' away from me at a progressive party in Taylor House in South Quad in 1982. As the RA escorted him out of the hall, he punched and broke the reinforced window in the fire door at the end of the hall.
You could follow the blood trail through the elevator and out the front door of the dorm.
Yes, it was completely swept under the rug -- no smart phones back then.
January 26th, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
That's a far cry from one anonymous dude on the internet proclaiming something from 36 years ago that nobody else, as far as I know, has ever accused him of. And I think I might have heard about it if it were true.
January 26th, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^
or Spartoon apologist, I'll let you know that I lived in Taylor 402 and still get together with friends who were there that helped pull him away from her and keep hm contained until Rick the RA arrived.
We're all as true blue as anyone around. A lot of shit got swept under the rug back then. CNN and ESPN were in their infancies.

Where did you get the crazy idea that there are no statute of limitations for civil cases?

January 26th, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^
This is not the first time I've posted this on this site.
Again, I never knew the girl and don't even know if she was a UM student. The very crowded progressive party cleared out in about two minutes (you know progressive parties involved each room having a trash can of jungle juice or the like, don't you?). There are 1,600 residents in South Quad -- it was a madhouse.
There can be no punishment for this after 36 years due to the statute of limitations.
What would I have to gain in posting this? It's just a warning that a lot of shit went on that people didn't know about (like the fact Roy Tarpley, also a SQ resident at the time, had wads of cash and was a huge coke head). Bet you don't doubt that about Roy, do you?

get swept under the rug now too. I think your recollection of 35 years ago is likely somewhat embellished. You also didn't specify what the assault consisted of. Unconsented touching is assault. However, if your friends got him away from the girl and the RA came and escorted him out - there really isn't a lasting story to be told and you seem a little petty for bringing it up now.
You didn't think enough of it to follow up. Did any coaches know about it? Anyone other than people in your hall and the RA? Were you always on your best behavior as a student? Were any of us?
And if you want to bring up this now... do you think that Dantonio, Izzo, and whoever else, didn't also have similar things happen to them in the early 80s with no cell phones or ESPN?
Stop, just stop with these lame attempts to deflect attention away from the mushroom cloud over East Lansing this week. These attempts are disrespectful to the victims of abuse who came forward to share stories that never should have had to be told.
January 26th, 2018 at 9:42 PM ^
grabbed their boobs or hit them when they resisted my advances, that's for sure.
I did not have a direct line to Bo and have no idea if they ever found out. Harbaugh's hand was pretty badly gashed (check to see if he has a bad scar on his right hand).
In no way am I attempting to deflect at all. Just remember that UM is not perfect.
Embellished? You're talking out of your ass. Harbaugh was known as being a very hard drinker -- saw him fall-down drunk a number of times that year. Remember, he got a drunk driving ticket many years after that, right, "Pam"?
January 26th, 2018 at 9:52 PM ^
"Pam"? You're an asshole, man.
January 26th, 2018 at 10:04 PM ^
There is no other purpose for your sharing of this story other than deflection. I had half believed you before, now I think you're full of it.
Seems like I hit a nerve, judging by your hostility.
January 26th, 2018 at 10:15 PM ^
suggesting Harbaugh should punch Dantonio for him covering up assaults.
My point was that would be highly hypocritical. At no time did I offer cover to Dantonio -- he's a schmuck.
January 26th, 2018 at 10:47 PM ^
respond with a deflection like this:
"And if you want to bring up this now... do you think that Dantonio, Izzo, and whoever else, didn't also have similar things happen to them in the early 80s with no cell phones or ESPN?".
The way I read that is you were suggesting what Harbaugh did right next to me was more a sign of the times and that "everybody did it".
Seemd to be a counterargument based on the "whataboutism" that is so common these days.
Perhaps I misunderstood as your missive wasn't very well written at all but my take on it is that you were writing it off it as beingbeing a "sign of the times".
I was shocked that a woman would make such an argument.
It wasn't, BTW. Harbaugh was about ten seconds away from getting the living shit kicked out him when the RA showed up.
January 26th, 2018 at 11:32 PM ^
You're shocked are you? Dig that hole deeper. The more you write the more it comes across as BS. You've got nothing and I don't need to "write off" anything.
January 27th, 2018 at 1:04 AM ^
I'll assume my take was spot on.
What I saw with my two own eyes was just the way things rolled back then and therefore okay, huh? Par for the course?
Seems that's your argument.
In a backhanded manner you accused Izzo and Dantonio of having assaulted women in college. When and where did those incidents occur?
Way to go. You'd make a great PSU fan.

than it is of UM.
College kids do dumb things and sexually assault others. MSU, K College, UM, whereever. Get enough 19 year olds together, and it'll unfortunately happen. The goal is to reduce occurences as much as possible through education and by holding perpetrators accountable.
It's how the school reacts to allegations that make a school perfect or worse. If you or none of the witnesses reported this, how would the University even know? This says something about you, not UM.

are so full of shit its pathetic. If you are telling the truth than youre a scumbag for not reporting to the police. Why didn't you post this when he was hired?
Even if it was true, that means you didn't report a sexaul assault then, and now you are defending pedophile enablers trying to make some bullshit equivalency.
January 27th, 2018 at 12:11 AM ^
you'd remember that I posted on numerous occasions that ESPN was working on a comprehensive expose about the problems at MSU and that they ran "wide and deep".
My source was a female professor at MSU who had been interviewed by ESPN and been feeding them leads and contacts for a few years.
I called what was going to happen at MSU long ago and am a loyal UM grad -- no troll here.
By he same token, I am going to call a spade a spade here in my own backyard, too.
January 27th, 2018 at 9:20 AM ^
Troll or not, if he saw some sexual (or just physical) assault, he should have reported it.
However I'm leaning towards troll given this comment from blueWon last week:
It's very, very easy to make the argument that Mork has outcoached Harbaugh each of the last three years.

January 26th, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
I regret not having contacted someone from the Daily but, in fairness, I was a freshman and the RA a senior -- thought he would have taken care of it the right way.
My daughter was a senior at UM when Harbaugh was hired and it bothered me to have them on the same campus.
I understand the "gravity" (not sure that's the right choice of words) of what I am saying and have never been shy about telling people.
Frankly, he wasn't yet a "thing" at that point -- just a flaky freshman who had just redshirted and whose father was on the coaching staff.
Such actions against women were not taken as seriously back then as they are now and, admittedly, I could have handled it better. There were three UM football players living in our hall who knew what happened, too, and did nothing.
