How MSU has handled this is unbelievably stupid and threatens the crediblity of the entire institution. Faculty has to step up and demand change because the administration refuses to do so.
People like to mock MSU's academics on here, but it is a good school with some reputable programs. MSU is part of intellectual corridor that is the driving force behind the potential renaissance of the state's economy which is why this is bad for all Michiganders.
Finally and most importantly, the victims have to hear contrition from MSU. They have to try to make amends with Nassar's victims.

As pressure grows externally, it's only a matter of days or weeks until LAS announces that she's resigning 'of her own will'. They can't survive this unscathed

I don’t know what you’re really supposed to say here.

This is an unequivocal dumpster fire but despite Izzo's standing as being the most unfireable employee at Michigan State, he's not going to speak out against his boss's boss during a post game press conference. No coach ever does. I have issues with the statement he did give when he could've kept it short and sweet like Dantonio, but it is what it is.

or STFU and say no commnent. Simon does not deserve public support, let alone support from the most prominent member of the MSU community. Even a "no comment" would have gone a long way. Chickenshit.

in their right mind should send their daughter to MSU

After all, she didn't through his two rapist players off the team a few years back.

Mark Dantonio referred to himself in the third person...
That's gotta be the most Dantonio thing ever

I too "hope that the right man was convicted". Though I thought Nassar's multiple guilty pleas kinda put that to rest, Tom. But then again, you ain't paid by the law school.

If this happened at U of M, and coaches gave quotes similar, I would be done with the program. I know that's easier for me not being an alumnus, but this is disgusting, especially in the wake of Penn State. The NCAA is a laughable failure. MSU is giving an example of precisely how not to do things. I can't believe how low people and institutions will go to protect their own interests, but sadly it isn't surprising anymore.
