Mo Hurst for PFF Heisman?
In watching the PFF college twitter feed, it appears that Mo Hurst is the highest overall rated player for any team at any position, at least within Power 5 conferences. Does anyone know if they use the rating to give an overall best player award?

I don't think they give it to the highest rated player, but because Mayfield is so high, it will surely go to him due to his teams achievements. Hurst will probably be their runner-up.

Yeah, exactly. Who would use a rating system to find the top rated player?

It's not just about ratings, though. Last year they didn't give it to the highest rated player. You have to factor in team success.

I feel like Mayfield might get snubbed due the unsportsmanlike suspension. If they are going to do that, perhaps they could look at the conference that got passed over.

No, PFF uses actual statistics.

There's a large amount of subjectivity yes, but they are attempting to quanitfy an inherently subjective thing. It's still "statistics".
Meanwhile the Bosa B1G award was apparently just made up out of thin air.

Sorry. no holding when it comes to Hurst.

They should give it to the player whose score is either the largest difference between first and second best, or between their score and the average of the top 10 at that position.

Love this kid's on-the-field play. Great motor. NFL-caliber first step. I really hope he gets drafted by the right team. He should excel in a 1-gap attacking system. When you add in that he was a two-time academic all-B1G guy, he seems like the full package. He gave our fanbase 5 years. He easily could have left last year for big money.
I'm going to miss Mo.

In typical Hurst fashion, he will be held back from receiving this award, and somehow the people in charge won't notice.

You spelled Bosa wrong.

The real award comes sometime around April 26...

Here's a good article on Hurst that includes comments from Mattison about recruiting him as a high school player:
