dress > dilithium
Wow. I've seen that picture before but never looked at Denard's face.
I should know because I'm the poster child.
I dont' see any fail in that picture. Besides, who am I to judge? I never went to prom.
I wonder if this is going up on qbforce.com?
me too Willywill.
maybe this will make it onto the "Wall of Shame"
Zing!
I just got blocked by the filter at work for "Adult Content"... Sweet. Should have known better before clicking on that. What is this picture even of?
Yes, some of the outfits are ridiculous no matter where or when the photo was taken. But the real fail in many other examples is people removed from the culture of the time and place in which the picture was taken (e.g., old farts, city folk) attempting to judge and derogate the people in the picture. Denard's is an example of that kind of fail.
And his date's dress, although a little vibrant, is pretty tame compared to what a lot of kids are wearing. I don't see any "fail."
In fact, I'm guessing that a lot of these kids probably fit in with the rest of their classmates at their respective proms.
Every generation had their faux pas, maybe not in the eyes of their peers, but in the eyes of other generations or social networks.
Does anyone else find it odd that they aren't holding hands, rather, Denard looks like he is pulling her arm/hand closer to his, er, man parts?
does pose these people, you know.
Yeah, I know, but it seems like an awkward position. I have never seen that before. Looks strange to me, I don't know.
Gotta show off the bling.
One can tell it's offseason when grown men are looking on strangers' prom pictures and making comments about dresses. I sure hope there and no Dancing With the Stars or The View threads coming next.
September can't get here soon enough!
she looks like a sweet tart
...but she definitely looks like a tart.
To clarify, I am talking about the one in the "your argument is invalid" pic.
Your Argument is Invalid
Trapped in Friend Zone sees kowtowing to 'BFF's' prom whim as only chance in hell at the possibility of post-prom coitus. Film at 11.
I think that if there's any fail in the prom picture at the top, it's probably in the poor background choice. Some flowers or a tree might have been nice...even a blank white wall would have been better than half of a poster and an awkward shot angle that make the floor appear to be slightly tilted.
Then again, it's just a "proof" so maybe nobody bothered to buy it.
How is this fail? It's a colorful dress. I'd wear it.
It's come to this, has it? We're at the point where a picture of a scholarship Michigan athlete is off topic? WHY DO YOU ALL DO IT WHY I DON'T UNDERSTAND
we love you and we want to hasten your descent into wonderful, delightful madness.
Come on in, the water's fine.
It's an inevitability that you become one of us
That is all.
I blame it on the MGoBoardPolice. I see "this should be labeled OT" in a lot of threads. Us common non-thread starting folk get paranoid when we finally find something worth while to post a new thread.
I think I see an equal number of "This should be OT" and "This should not be OT" comments.
Your comment is really a comment about commenting habits rather than the information contained within this comment itself; I believe it should be marked "meta."
It's crazy to think about the fact that Denard hasn't even been on campus for 365 days yet. Considering that Tate had (presumably) already completed his first spring practice with the team by the time this photo was taken, it's no wonder that the gap between the two QBs was so much bigger last year than it is this year.
Hey!
I don't see the fail either.....it is not, perhaps, what I would wear to my prom, but nor is what I would wear to the prom something that Denard would want to wear to his prom. Ditto for his date and my date.
Perhaps, Denard and his peers would view what me and my date wore as fail. They would probably have more class than to re-post the picture somewhere and call it a FAIL.
Besides, they may not have had as many color/style options as the rest of us, because Denard has to wear flame-retardant, dilithium-proff clothing at all times and I would imagine, for safety reasons, so would his date. So there's that......
The photo is labeled "Fail" because (1) the girl's dress is absolutely made from the same material as the festive table accoutrements I once bought at 'Party City'. Also, (2) the photo was taken in the back of a damn U-Haul (notice steel reinforced seams and rivets) by (3) a photographer on his knees. Or He Pingping.
Who am I to judge? Homegirl's working it; Shoelace looks sweet. And you know he got that dress off FAST. Dreadlock ninja fast.
1. girl's dress - is this 'what not to wear now'? Where she is from it rox sox ;)
2. it is a photography backdrop that true, should not be used at that angle/elevation so the seam/hangings don't show, but is not a Uhaul.
3. LOL @ pingping. Photog is definitely not in the right place, More than likely it was set up to try and get a glimpse and a few pix up some of the shorter dresses ;)

I hear that. She is cute, hopefully he wasn't Dilithium fast after the dress came off.
You can see the reflection of the banner in the roof.
That is part of a wall or something else that extends straight up behind the backdrop.
The reflection is 180 degs opposite the banner, the roof of a trailer would be at a 90 angle and the reflection would appear accordingly.
[muttering to self]
I have just, actually, debated the angle of reflection in a stranger's prom photo as evidence of it being a trailer in the background or not. I really need a hobby or I could very likely require counseling before the off-season is over.
Potatoe salad is soooo good, maybe I will go outside and get some
[end muttering]
Note to self: hobbies, get a new one or resume an old one ASAP
The only "fail" I see - Denard has his shoes tied.
I bought that dress first and now she's wearing the same one too!! AHHHHHHH
(runs into a corner for attention-seeking prom cry)
(your prom experience was not complete if 2 girls didnt wear the same dress unintentionally and FREAK OUT)
female perspective. However, I assure you, there was only one potential "prom experience" event on the minds of most males. The attire of their female guests was involed, but only because the guys were thinking about the method of which that attire could be expediantly removed.
Edit: Bah. Meant to be a reply to CleverMichiganReference's post above.
This is true, and I wholeheartedly admit to being really bored at senior prom for an entire hour before cutting out for the "after party."
I will add, however, that my high school was/is pretty damn trashy, so same dress confrontations occasionally escalate into 'girl fights.'
Looks to me like he passed on some pretty good genes.
but she has apparently found a way to absurb the breast mass of other females that she comes in contact with.
You can almost feel how jealous the other girls in that picture are. Those smiles are so fake. You know deep down they are calling the one with the fun pillows a slut, or some other nasty name.
The only things failing on that girl are her lower back and the seams at the top of that dress.
Work why do you have to block websites?
Your mind was literally blown?
