Exactly what I said. The Lions need to make it into the playoffs first before making such a bold move. Right now they still need to add bodies and quality football players to make this team better. I believe they did that with the first three picks.

That is not a "flat billed hat." It is a 59Fifty hat. It is the same exact product that the MLB uses. You can leave the brim flat like you see in the picture, or curve it like Eric Gagne. Next time you watch a baseball game, pay attention to the curves in the hats. Same product as above.
IMO, 59Fifty is the only way to go. Best quality you can get in a hat.

It's a sad day when Barry Melrose's name is mentioned, and Gary Thorne is just "another commentator." Thorne is one of the best play by play hockey guys in the biz. I would say this is how I am. I understand it's just a game, not a life or death situation, but I do have my moments. Especially when Michigan blatantly throws the game away. Fumble Fest at Notre Dame 3 years ago was probably the biggest time I threw a fit.
As for not watching anymore college football games if M loses, I love college football. I try to watch as many games as possible. My problem is going out after the Michigan games, so I hardly even watch the other games.
MGoBlog is definitely the epitome of my obsessiveness. I constantly visit this page for updates from Brian, TomVH, Tim, and the MGoBoard family.

I'm curious to know how filled up the Palace was. Me and a group of friends were going to go but when we found out tickets for the floor were $100+ and lower bowl was $90+ we bailed. We couldn't justify getting lower bowl seats for damn near as much as we spent on floor tickets for Em and Jay Z. I just really wanted to see Travis Barker do his thing again. I'm not a huge Weezy fan.

Players that I hated but loved seeing on my team: Chris Chelios, Brett Hull. I hated Charlie V for some odd reason, but I met him at The Post after a game and he's actually a cool guy.
Players I used to love, now hate: Roy E. Williams. Sergei Fedorov. Grant Hill. I used to love Grant until recently when he released his whiny letter that made no sense what-so-ever and ripped on having a Michigan education yet he has no idea what the hell "past tense" means. He may have a title at Duke, but he will never win a title in the NBA. For all the years I wanted him to, now I am more than happy that sending his ass to the Magic gave the Pistons a Championship.

Dude, get a life. If your only way to curve your boredom is to sit online and rip on Detroit anonymously, then I feel sorry for you. I love how the narrator of the commercial made a comment about ridiculous comments from people that have never even visited the city. Paints you perfect.

What some people fail to realize *cough*ShockFX*cough* is that the commercial was about being proud from where you came from, and being proud of Detroit. I have no idea where people are taking away the "pick up your family and move to Detroit" aspect. In no way, shape, or form was that even discussed in the commercial. It was about being strong through the shit storm this city and state have been through over the past few years. To take anything else away from the commercial is asinine.
No matter what happens in my life, I will always be proud to say I was born and raised in Michigan.

IMO there isn't a better informative site than MGoBlog. If you're looking at recruiting as a whole, I wouldn't put too much stock into one being "better" than the other. I use Rivals and Scout as informative tools about upcomming players, but not much more. I've been following recruiting heavily since 2004, subbed to both Rivals and Scout and different times, and I can honestly say that as far as rankings go, they're pretty much even. For every Vince Young they get right, there's a Mike Hart out there that they get wrong and vise versa.
As far as Michigan itself goes, since I found MGoBlog, Scout nor Rivals combined can even touch this site. The information that Brain, Tom, Tim, and the whole community give out more than fills my needs. Best of all, it's free!

Hey now, there's no reason to be calling fellow Michigan fans "idiots." Have you remember, our almighty savior Brian didn't even want Hoke when the coaching serch began. Nor did I. But at the end of the day, it's about supporting the team. It wasn't the press conference that got me to like Hoke, it was the fact that he is now Michigan's head coach. No matter if I wanted him as coach or not doesn't matter anymore.

So first you say it was inexcuseable not to get out of the triangle choke, not you're saying he tapped out to an armbar. Ok...? I have yet to see it recorded as a tapout by armbar.
Tito taught someone on TUF how to get out of a triangle choke? Wow. Now they will never lose! I actually can't believe that I've never seen a triangle choke before since it's so easy to escape from!
BTW, your "you probably shouldn't comment" comment is quite humorous. #1 I wasn't the one bragging about my incredible BJJ skills over the internet. #2 I could pose the same statement to you. Unless you're not in a triangle choke by Anderson Silva, you probably shouldn't comment.

Yep, 116 might have been the best UFC PPV I have seen.
Regardless, Sonnon DID try to escape, he just got caught in a heel hook/leg lock as well. Anderson Silva is the best MMA fighter in the world. Since you think the triangle choke is so simple to escape, let's see Silva put you in a triangle (with you knowing BJJ and how to escape and all) and see how easy it is to escape then.

Why the Rams passed on Suh to take Bradford when Locker is sitting there ripe for the picking next year is beyond me. Not that I really cared that the Rams picked Bradford, because now I get to watch Suh fuck shit up in a Lions jersey. I was also on the Stafford band wagon last year too, so I'm quite happy.
The funniest part about the draft were the Rams fans though. Once reality set in that they were going to pick Bradford, most of them became delusional and actually WANTED Bradford over Suh. Good luck with that...

|07/17/2010 - 11:38am||I've been asking the same||
I've been asking the same thing about the NBA for awhile now. Yeah, it might be a fun sport to watch every now and then, but every year it's the same thing. You can go into each year with a top 4 teams, 2 from each league that will make the finals and win and every year it happens. Not to mention that you see those same 4 teams on ESPN and TNT every single time they show a basketball game.
Oh, and how about the playoffs... There were 3 sweeps in the 2nd round. How exciting...
|07/16/2010 - 2:36am||I doubt it. The Warriors are||
I doubt it. The Warriors are a cash cow in the Bay. They were 11th in the league in attendence last year and they sucked. If they were actually decent and had a superstar to base their team around, they would be raking.
FWIW, the Pistons were 8th in attendence and they were worse. They aren't going anywhere.

Evans grabbing his nuts then blowing Forrest a kiss doesn't come close...? Umm... Ok...
Hughes strutting, Forrest's little chin punch, Rampage's jumping is on the same level. It's not Silva's fault that Maia couldn't KO his ass when he was touching the mat with both of his hands.
|06/27/2010 - 8:30am||Out of curiosity, what makes||
Out of curiosity, what makes Anderson Silva a "douchebag" besides the media getting into your head...? As far as I'm concerned, he's the most entertaining fighter in MMA today. So what if he "showboats"? So does Evans, Hughes, Rampage, hell, even Forrest showboats. No one can beat Silva, and he proves it time and time again. Saying Silva showboats is like saying Desmond showboats. They are the best in the world at their time and they were showing it. Let them enjoy it.
BTW, Gracie is NOT the best P4P ever. Just because he's an originator doesn't make him the best. That's like saying Ken Shamrock is the best LW of all time.

Sure... It will happen just as soon as you can give recruits secret dufflebags and awesome co-ed parties on their recruiting visits! I wonder if when you get caught you'll have to give back your NC and Heisman trophies as well. Will this screw up your 4 straight NC's achievement?
NCAA 11 = It's in the game! Literally!
|06/17/2010 - 12:49am||Sure. Each team that faced||
Sure. Each team that faced Duke won their game. Isn't that the point of a playoff/tournament? To determine who the best is? If a NCAA football playoff comes along, are you then also going to claim a team didn't beat the best team(s) either? Teams get into playoffs/tournaments for a reason. They're the best teams in the country.
Honestly, if beating the best teams doesn't matter, then why are people so up in arms when Michigan misses the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament every year? If that's the case, then we should strive for the NIT. Hell, why even go to a tournament?
|06/17/2010 - 12:48am||I do concur on that. My main||
I do concur on that. My main point was, I didn't see "I hope we still play MSU and OSU!" I saw "hoping Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, and Northwestern stay on the slate."
Besides Minnesota, what do the other teams benefit Michigan for? The only thing I could think of were that the OP saw them as "easy" teams to beat. Again, we shouldn't strive to beat the "easy" teams. We should be striving to beat the best. Ultimately, we aren't going to have a completely stacked schedule every year, but we shouldn't be scared to have one either.

Why are hoping Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, and Northwestern stay on the schedule..? Because you think they will be easy wins? Is this what you're lowering yourself to as a Michigan fan? Mediocrity? |06/15/2010 - 2:29am||I feel kind of bad for||
I feel kind of bad for Boise. TCU and Boise would be perfect fits for the Big 12 football wise. It seemed as if Boise was poised to take a MWC invite, then pulled back once the Big 12 was in turmoil, then jumped on the MWC invite as soon as it looked like the Big 12 was as good as done.
Other than those two, I don't know. Cincy? Louisville? Memphis? Houston? Who knows, but the Big 12 will go after 2 other schools. They don't want to lose the cash cow that is the Big 12 Championship game.
|06/14/2010 - 10:46pm||Personally, I think it's||
Personally, I think it's hilarious. Nebraska (and I'm sure Colorado as well) wanted to get out of the Big 12 because of Texas. Not just the school, but the state. They were running the Big 12. Now, KU, KSU, BU, Mizzou, and ISU basically beg Texas to stay so everyone else stays just so they can keep that "prestigious" BCS conference title. Problem for every other school is that Texas is going to run that conference in football. When Texas takes that BCS title bid year after year and keeps all that BCS money from it, PLUS more money than every other school, PLUS their own network, I just can't see any other Big 12 school being able to survive financially in that conference. I have a feeling this isn't going to end well, and the only ones to blame are the 5 desperate schools that wanted to keep the conference together.
|06/14/2010 - 9:10pm||I just got done playing two||
I just got done playing two games on the demo. The ESPN presentation is awesome! When that familiar Saturday ESPN College Football theme hit, I was pumped. For the game play, I did notice that there were blown coverages, and it was easier to pass in which is nice. Usually EA football game passing plays only work when you PA fake, or throw the out route over and over again. Playing with Clemson, I got ran down from behind after breaking a 60+ yard run. It was nice because in years past if you broke open a run, the D never cared enough to run you down, or just weren't fast enough. Now you just can't take a stroll into the endzone everytime you break one.
I'm still undecided on if I'm going to buy it or not. I have to play the demo more to get a feel for it. The recent sports games trend has been small gameplay improvements, but the same core gameplay of years past. NHL 10's core gameplay is pretty much the same as NHL 09 except with small improvements. UFC 10's core gameplay is pretty much the same as UFC 09 except with small improvements. Both are great games, but I felt with both games these "improvements" could have been added in a patch for $10 instead of making a yearly release and making people spend $60 on them each time. I need to play the demo more to see if the improvements are worth my $60 for another year.

I completely agree. To a certain extent, he's been on, but I agree with Frank the Tank in that the information he is being given is largely a smoke screen fed to him via Texas.
It has been widely known that the Pac 10 was going to go after Colorado and Utah. Colorado is going, and guess what team is popping up to take one of the "5" teams spot if one of them doesn't go? Utah.
Texas A&M has discussed a move to the SEC for awhile now too, and has been brought up even before Chip was reporting it.
I DO think he is getting his information from Texas, but I think he's just being taken for a ride. I don't think he really minds either since he's getting tons of national media attention in the process. Personally, I take what he says with a grain of salt.

The first season was nothing short of amazing. The second season kind of lost me. The third season was great until Hank got put into the hospital, then it got incredibly boring and drawn out. They could have basically put 3 episodes into one. It was very disappointing to me because the first half of the season was on par with season 1. The last 2 episodes were good, but nothing will ever match that first season.
