This is the epitome of hindsight. I call bullshit on that. The sentiment on those guys was "why are we taking commitments from these guys (and an ee in McKean's case) when there are bigger fish out there." turns out Harbaugh knows what he's doing This fan base has a brazen contingent of ass holes who hedge their fan hood with shit talking their own team. Its fucking disgusting.

Paye is too early to say and Metellus has seen more than his share of hiccups so far. But that's just stargazing. I thought Metellus had good film, physical S who liked to come up and hit people. I thought Paye looked athletic and my concerns were whether he would put on the weight to play DE. Looks like he has. And McKeon had the fastest 40 for TEs in Sparq testing.

Little off subject but would like to see more off J. Woods, a three star who I think is going to be a stud at safety. Remember looking at his film and could not understand the ranking.

I also saw a lot of people bitching about the recruit schoonmaker who I think is going to be a huge asset for Michigan. Super athletic kid for his size. Don't have an opinion on Haskins but we are starting to see what good blocking can open up for our backs.

Not only was Mike Hart a 3*, he was ranked the #264 overall player and the #6 All Purpose Back in the country.  In 2004, stars were harder to come by.  Those numbers today would be a 4* (in the 247 composite, the #334 player is the last 4* in the class of 2018).

But, I am not a recruiting expert and I am only judging on rankings vs hundreds of horrors of tape, attitude, intangiables, his upside etc. I trust the staff more than I do this board or rankings. I’m sure his running style is a nice compliment to 3 other backs harbaugh will continue to use. Not very back needs to be a home run hitter

My understanding is that this also gets Michigan a foothold in the Saint Louis area. We want to start going after guys at powerhouses like Trinity Catholic.

Not saying that Missouri will end the next New Jersey/Georgia, but it's possible in addition to what he could offer on the field, his recruitment represents a bigger strategic plan as well.

with all the negative things being written. I believe Taylor was the first one we got from GA and we had a 5* DT from the same state get 30 snaps Saturday and I believe for '18 we have as many from that state as any other, than MI of course. Good strategy though. i'd like to learn about the football in that city. Now probably will.

You're a bag of the douchiest type. The young man is a wolverine and despite all the negative bullshit you lay down he'll be a wolverine. So why opt for the "street urchin' that Yost described- and things aren't going all that bad - instead of the actual fan?

So you think because Jay Harbaugh offered him and recruited him that it was his decision and his decision alone? Well in your defense, idiots have a right to be fans too. And the ass hat that wants Harbaugh reminded he's not at San Diego any longer. Hell, I'm sure he has a contact address. Have you guys every heard of Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson? They offered some damn fine backs despite never playing the position. So too did Alvarez, and Partridge didn't play 8 different positions at the D1 level, but yet he is offering these players to take care of the entire field??? WTF is Harbaugh thinking?

He's thinking about doing the damn job he was hired to do and if you just take a look at his record for his brief time here you can see he's doing a damn good job. He's made strong pushes for some real find backs and they've opted to go elsewhere But if you don't think he'll get a five star you haven't been paying a lot of attention. He's recruited much better than any coach we've had here in years and you'll have to go back pre-Carr to find his equal, so I simply can't understand the bitching. You act as if merely wanting a player is all it takes to get them to wear the maize and blue. Some of you are fucking idiots. No, truely, died in the wool, non disguisable fucking idiots of the highest order.

I personally think we have the skill players but need better o-line play and one other important position to play well. I realize it is beating a dead horse, but Michigan has been playing handicapped all year with the QB play.

I think it speaks volumes that the defensive intensity goes up with the change at QB. I don't care who you are the QB has to play well or your team will just plain look bad.

This years recruiting class has not really got me fired up but what is being projected for next years may just make up for it. Pissed we lost Ekiyor he is going to be a stud, but he is a guard. I think Michigan recruiting will be just fine going forward.

Curious to see what Ekiyor is driving around tusca fuska next year though.

Really doesnt matter what the other guy had to say when you make a post like this you become an equal contributor to the problem.

I certainly dont agree with the attitude of slamming a kids commitment but i can understand the frustration.  Michigan is behind OSU and Penn State right now along with another dozen or so programs nationally.. Theres alot of ground to make up and taking what almost appears as a year off is only " likely" to widen the gap. People need to stop overvalueing there (or our) contributions to the state and future of the program.  Yes kids read social media and this site but its largely irrelevant.  OSU and Bama have some the craziest and outlandish fans in all of sports and thats when there actually winning and accomplashing things.  Hasnt really seemed to have a negative effect on any of there recruiting.  Social media is full of ass hats, kids are not choosing what college to attend based on these ass hats.

1. He is slow for a RB.

2. My guess is his low rating stems from his speed. However, he has great feet, terrific vision, is quick even if he isn't fast, has good balance. He breaks tackles.

3. Looks like he can catch the ball and he is a willing blocker. I would be stunned if he can't pass block at the next level.

4. He is also a DE and while I can't see that at UM, I can see him as a Sam or maybe even an ILB if he doesn't work out as a RB. He might also grow into the FB spot, a position of need for us.

5. Right now he has gained over 1900 yards thiis year and has 29 TDs.

6. Speed is nice but it isn't the #1 requisite for a RB. Balance, vision, strength are more important.

7. It is hard for anyone, even experts, to project success but I will be surprised if he doesn't make a contribution at UM.

We bitch and moan about how Dantonio takes low rated players and turn into quality players and sometimes studs.

Now, our coaching staff gets a low rated guy and everyone loses their f&&&ing minds.

Lots of pretenders on here, but I promise the Michigan faithful will support Hassan.
It’s obvious that few have watched his senior tape. He is quicker and faster than that 40 time suggests. Shifty and strong. Looked like Kareem Walker to me. We are lucky to have him and I wager he will be a contributor if not a starter.

BlueWolverine02

Of course we will support him.  We are all Michigan fans and hope he wins the Heisman here.  Having said that, I have watched his tape and he reminds me more of a smaller/slower Derrick Green than anything.  HIts hard only gets you so far when you are still going down on contact.  A little bit of shiftiness but doesn't have the speed to make that effective at the next level  unless he has Laveon Bell type vision.  I see a hard runner that is going to fall forward, but he isn't going to break many tackles and doesn't have the speed to be a big play threat.

after reading mgoblog boards for over 10 years i think im done. the amount of trolls and hacks on here anymore just isn't any fun. use to trolls and hacks were entertaining and funny, anymore they are lame and not clever.

Before I started posting I used to read it for years, and I thought it was the norm. You have to look at it in a way whereas, there's one in every group. Unfortunately the cesspool is getting larger. Content is good most times and that keeps me reading. Some trolls are funny but some of them are just downright excruciating. Hang in there!

Its always great when fans want to defend low ranked recruits and pull the "if you dont have anything nice to say.." card but when a player on the actual team is playing poorly get out their pitchforks and torches.

Which way is it? can you criticize or not? Because the shit I have seen on here about Okorn is a hell of a lot worse than anyone questioning the addition of a low 3* recruit.

This has been proven wrong time after time. Stars do matter. They matter a lot. The more 5 and 4 star players you have, the better you are. It is not debatable. Do some teams win with lower rated players? Of course. Is it way harder to win against teams with higher rated recruits? Absolutely. I’m not bagging on the kid and hope he is “a sleeper”, but if you want to compete with OSU, Alabama, etc., you have to have 4-5 star players. This isn’t debatable.
