Higdon: first 200-yard game by a RB in a decade

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Karan Higdon (now from Utica, MI) had a historic day today.

200 yards.

The last Wolverine back to have a 200 yard game was.............the current IU RBs coach.

October 6, 2007 against EMU. Hart had a 215 yard game on the day he became Michigan's all-time leading rusher.

and open to the concept of cut-backs and breaking the initial tackle - can be successful w/UM's O-Line... well, against 80% of the teams on their schedule anyway

Finally we mjght have a true lead back fod the the rest of this year and next? Just seems once they have a big game and we think he is our guy they take a shit and we are back looking cor that led guy. I mentioned this in other thread but AJ DILLON the RB we had committed and we weren't sure if we were gonna keep him at RB or lb well he just ran for 272 yds and 4 tds today at 6 foot 1 240 and he is pretty dam fast and quick. He is one guy I wanted cause he was 240 Lbs and enough speed to breakaway for long runs. I know it was just one game but he has a 120 he game also maybe it is just a blip but think he is now BC #1 back

He wanted to play RB and we wouldn't guarantee him he would get a chance to play RB that s why he went to BC. But not worrying about others just see he Ran for 272 4tds which is pretty dam good considering BC line is probably worse then ours. He is 61 240 and moves better than Isaac so he would have been a nice get. Anyways great game by Higdon. Just sucks seeing guys who were committed then they go somewhere else and do good when we could have used a guy like that. Yes he left us but he did so so he could play RB something that wasn't guaranteed here. Go Blue and hope Higdon puts up 200 a couple more times this year.

I just said like many other people on here and it is a dam thread that the guy who was suppose to come here had a bell of a game and it would be nice to have a 6 1 240lb guy like that not bitching at all I am happy for the kid cause he went and played RB and stuck to his heart and desire to be a RB. Higdon I am happy about but not bitching and this is why Sparty calls us Wal-Mart wolverines and bitch cause of assholes like you. I love tb is blog but it makes me see the bad side of alot of our fans. Not all on here are like that but enough to see why we are hated as fans of our great school.

He brought up his point because this is a thread praising Higdon, and your post reads as "sure Karan's great, but AJ DILLON!!!", which comes across as you passively aggressively dissing our guy and bitching about how we couldn't keep some other guy.

As for why Sparty drops "Wal-Mart" Wolverine is because they subconciously accept that they are a second tier, regional program that no one would have a reason to follow/be a fan of unless they have some sort of direct and/or familial connection to MSU. They're just too stupid to realize that they're making fun of themselves everytime they use that one, which is...par for the course I would say.

Always want to place people at WR, and running back, because let's be honest. If you watched any games while he was at Michigan he was a quarterback. I can discuss this with you at length and I promise you that you that eventually you'd be in denial. So was Threet a QB? How about Sheridan? Hell for that matter, how about our, Jumbo tight end, John Navarre? I'll wait.

On at least a couple of occasions, because Higdon had already run a couple of times and needed a breather. Same as almost every other coach in the country.

He'd experienced some difficulties academically and the coaches perhaps thought he needed additional time to firm up in general. Also there are senior backs to consider giving a last opportunity to impress. I suspect we'll be seeing more playing time on his part this season, especially as the wear and tear take their toll on the others.

heart today.  Made something out of nothing on several runs, including the game winning td, and he fought for every yard he could get every carry.
