Higdon: first 200-yard game by a RB in a decade
Karan Higdon (now from Utica, MI) had a historic day today.
200 yards.
The last Wolverine back to have a 200 yard game was.............the current IU RBs coach.
October 6, 2007 against EMU. Hart had a 215 yard game on the day he became Michigan's all-time leading rusher.

So you effed up your post, and you're annoyed at someone else because they called you on it?

he was: 1) 'the difference' today, and 2) 'the offense' today

and open to the concept of cut-backs and breaking the initial tackle - can be successful w/UM's O-Line... well, against 80% of the teams on their schedule anyway

lets worry about the players we have, not those we don't eh.

So, our tailback rushes for 200 yards (first time for a Michigan back in 10 years!) and the first thing you think of is to bitch that we didn't recruit another guy?

He brought up his point because this is a thread praising Higdon, and your post reads as "sure Karan's great, but AJ DILLON!!!", which comes across as you passively aggressively dissing our guy and bitching about how we couldn't keep some other guy.
As for why Sparty drops "Wal-Mart" Wolverine is because they subconciously accept that they are a second tier, regional program that no one would have a reason to follow/be a fan of unless they have some sort of direct and/or familial connection to MSU. They're just too stupid to realize that they're making fun of themselves everytime they use that one, which is...par for the course I would say.

Why did Walker get one carry?. He looked fast and crushed the DB. Why not give him some more carries?.

plus, you'd never want to reduce the carries of the RB that happens to be rushing for 200 yrds.

not sure why after hreat runs they pull him.

Why did we keep putting Evans in when Higdon was dominating? To keep him happy? I don't know. Jay's decisions are puzzling to say the least.

How about leaving him in for 5 plays or so then substitute? Why would you put him in for 2, then put in Issac for 3, punt, then next drive start off with Evans? That accomplishes nothing.

Which is what Isaac is for, right?

I'm not complaining about Isaac getting carries. He was clearly favored for 3rd downs and had some success on his own. I'm talking about Evans. Not every coach runs 3 or 4 backs a game when one is dominating.

He'd experienced some difficulties academically and the coaches perhaps thought he needed additional time to firm up in general. Also there are senior backs to consider giving a last opportunity to impress. I suspect we'll be seeing more playing time on his part this season, especially as the wear and tear take their toll on the others.

Indeed, Denard had two games where he threw and ran for more than 200 yards each.
So Karan wasn't the "last Michigan back" to hit 200 yards—a minor point but it's an excuse to talk about Denard!

heart today. Made something out of nothing on several runs, including the game winning td, and he fought for every yard he could get every carry.

I hope he can put up 200 yards at Penn State. That'd be a sight.
