The tornado outlook is 2% fwiw. That's the lowest prediction the NWS will make.

you know, on a related note, it's interesting that Michigan hasn't had any violent tornadoes in a long time. It seems like back in the day the state saw some notable twisters with some regularity but the last decade or so, it's really been pretty quiet on that front.

is that the Great Lakes make it difficult for tornadoes, particulalry strong ones, to develop. The strom cells have to travel in a particular path to spin off anything more than low-intensity twisters

and even the 80s still saw a few F4s. I think as long as I have been alive to follow the weather the problem more often than not has been that stuff typically already goes linear before it even hits Lake Michigan and then it comes over the lake as a squall line.
Don't seem to get discreet supercell setups much if at all these days.

What Chicago has been experiencing for the past hour or so. While there was some heavy wind and rain initially, it's barely sprinkling now and the winds are down to 5-15 mph.
I've also looked at the radar predictions. Game weather should be playable throughout, at most perhaps a brief 15-minute pause but I doubt it.
Sorry we sent these storms your way. 0.02 and Go Blue!

Also, there was an impressive double rainbow over the lake several minutes ago.
