Everyone Murders

My elderly father was there with his even more elderly brother.  Before the comeback, there were some MSU fans woofing at him relentlessly.  Not really cussing, but still giving two old guys (both retired Marines) an earful.  Making matters worse, a number of Michigan fans were leaving the stadium, betting against a comeback.  That stuff drives my old man batshit.

Finally, at one point, my father turned around and told the woofing Spartys "look, maybe you want to save some of that jabber for the end of the game - we've still got some more football to play."  They woofed even more at first, and then - as the game unfolded - became pretty damned silent.

After the game he told the MSU fans behind them "you have a safe drive home, now."   And dialed his flip phone to relay the above to me.

For me and my buddy, we had a 10 year old MSU fan and his Dad behind us whooping it up all game, and it started to grate by the 4th quarter.  Then Braylonfest happens, and as the dust is settling over our victory, I turn around to see this kid sobbing into this Dad's chest.  I nudge my buddy and motion behind us.  He turns around to behold the scene and then we give each other a surreptitious fist bump and giggle like 8 year old boys.

Not my proudest moment, I'll admit, but very satisfying nonetheless.

I created a #feelingsthread about this after, you know, that thing. I missed the entire game due to taking the Professional Engineering exam in California. When that let it, it was late in the forth quarter. The radio broadcast cut to the USC game because, stuff... so I called my Dad who was watching it and he gave me the play by play for the rest of OT. Wonderful!!!!

Cold, friend had a Halloween party to go to, discouraged by the score.  Started hearing roars on the way back to car.  Little traffic, listened to the rest of regulation on the way home to Pinckney.  Sat down, turned on TV, just in time to catch all of overtime.

You may think that makes me a bad fan.  You really should be thanking me, because if I hadn't left, it wouldn't have happened.  Just sayin....

I heard Jim Comparoni on the radio the other day say that MSU has better players at every position on the field.  I just about drove my car off the side of the road when I heard him say that.  Whatever that guy is smoking, I would like some of that.  Really???

We're always late to the party here on the west coast. Still representing Michigan hard. Just got a new Michigan Wolverines license plate holder for the new (for us) car. Had to get a Honda CRV cause we are anticipating our very first MGoBaby this January. Due date is the championship game. Hoping to be watching Michigan hustle to keep tie to toe with the Tide. Here's to the end of a way too long Improvement Week offseason.
