After years of Rich Rod, Hoke and Millen's teams, how nice is it to have great D coordinators on the Lions and Michigan at the same time. Both guys should be head coaches somewhere so I'm going to enjoy this while I can.

When is the last time you can remember watching a lions game and feeling confident in their dominance from start to finish. I don't care how bad the giants suck. This is surreal.

I've been an apathetic Lions fan for years. Didn't think they'd be relevant in my lifetime. They seem to have a real GM, real QB and real defense. If this line comes together and Caldwell can be adequate managing end of games, they have a real shot at being decent. Not just decent for a couple years. Decent as in they'll be relevant as long as their QB stays healthy.

Lol. Upvoted because it's fun to be temporarily a little delusionally optimistic as a lions fan. Low risk high reward. I'm not that emotionally invested so it won't break my spirit when they fail me. Michigan is my blow. The lions are the last cigarette left that I didn't notice I had. Huh?

I've seen this script from the Lions before. Then again, I've seen them look like the Giants in the first two weeks before, too. A lot. I'll take this big time. The upside to being more invested in your college team is that you can just enjoy this without having to pick apart the flaws. Plus a Monday Night win in NY is no slouching thing.

Have not seen this script very often, to be honest.

Lions are always the one coming back, needing desperation. They get smashed by decent teams on the road. They seem to always, always suck in big stages (Monday night).

This was a comprehensive, top to bottom win that we haven't seen from this team in awhile.

Not to say Lions are Super Bowl favorites this season. They are still an injury or two to key positions away from looking entirely different. I can't remember feeling this good about the competence of the front office and direction. They are winning due to multiple contributions from players taken after the 1st round of the past two drafts. Outside of holding penalties, they are playing smart. They won a game in which skill position players didn't have big games...and it was a decisive win. They have a QB who's both skilled and now has learned how to manage the game. They have good special teams play. They have good coordinators on both offense and defense. They have good young players in every position group. When Decker gets back, Lions might have one of their better O-lines in years. Different script. At least this feels like one that I'd like to follow until it ends.

I really like how the new right guard and new right tackle were blocking in the Lions' running game to that side. It gives even more optimism to how good the OL might become once the starting LT returns. It was a great win.

Call me a negative Nancy if you will. But we all know the lions gonna lion. We've all been fans way too long and we know better. If you're a younger fan all I'm going to say is don't get your hopes up.
