PSA: Booing is NOT okay

Hearing the Michigan 'faithful' boo today made me sick. Completely disappointed in that display of 'fandom'.

Expressing yourself by rolling your lips in just before forcing out your foul breath is not okay. If you are not willing to cheer and encourage your team on while they are not performing up to expectations, don't buy a ticket or go to the game. Just because you spend money on entertainment does not entitle you to act that way.

If you want someone to succeed, do you boo them to or do you encourage them to push through and persevere? People forget these are impressionable young men who hear that and are affected by it. Yes, they need to be able to play through adversity. Do you really want to be the cause of that? These players want to hear you cheering loud and proud. Do it.

The masses need to know this is not okay. Don't let anyone in your section get away with this without ridicule. This needs to stop now.

It feels like something to be posted in the middle of a season that ends with "You Raise Me Up".

It's a 100,000 people together in a place to be happy, they can't be controlled. If you go play football for a team that draws those kind of crowds, well, you gotta deal with that.

Now let's hope there won't be too many situations this year where people feel a need to vent their frustration.

I remember tne red wings getting boo'd once. Then the crowd stayed chanting "shoot the puck." It worked. Red wings won.... asking the crowd to not express their emotions is asinine.

Get your wahhhhs out on here and not at the unpaid young men who work their asses off in a high-variance, low sample size sport. And if you're an "I paid my money, I can cry if I want to" man-baby maybe think of this practically. Does that help with recruiting? Morale? You think Harbaugh gives a shit about your opinion?

If this thread is any indication I understand why other fans find us insufferable. They won. They didn't play well. This is a teachable moment for a young team in a sport that requires them.. Sorry if you lost a few bones because they didn't cover.

or because they care about the people in the stands..and the people in the stands aren't cheering because they like the players as individuals. It's a bargain between parties who feel they're getting something out of the whole thing.

If the team underperforms, those people in the stands feel that the team isn't doing their part of the bargain so they don't feel any obligation to do their own part either.

You have 100,000 people there who paid very large amounts of money to watch a much better team play well against an inferior team.

The better team underperformed, considerably. Do you really think all 100,000 people are going to politely clap like they are listening to their kids plan in a wildly out of tune elementary school band concert?

Now that we have made the entire M football experience nothing more than a monetary transaction between quasi-compensated players and paying customers, where decency, substance and character have no place....let's go work on marketing the hell of of the "brand" and make a few more bucks, cuz in the end, that is all there is.

Is every American's God given right. Is you play like shit, fans who fork over big bucks for tickets have a right to let the team know about it.

Right. Think of the thousands of dollars these kids are paid out of your ticket sales. If they don't perform up to your standards you deserve recourse. God knows no one else like coaches or someone will call them out for their poor play. It's up to the fans who pay their salaries.

You're really going to pull the "college athletes should be paid" card? They're reciving an education from one of, if not the best public institutions in America FOR FREE. That same education would cost someone like me $200,000+ and I'm supposed to feel bad about that? Save your sob stories for someone else
