At the Citrus Bowl, there was a combined Florida, Michigan luncheon the day before the game. Both coaches were interviewed on stage. They were each asked what career they would have if they didn't coach.
Harbaugh: I would have been an astronaut or professional baseball player.
McElwain: I have to coach football because I don't know how to do anythng.

I never did understand it. McElwain should visit a therapist.

Negged for strangely anti-semitic comment. ;)

This one's a bit silly - he didn't even say that the Gators are going to beat Michigan. He said that's why the Gators are going to Dallas.
“I love the energy, can’t wait to see you,” McElwain said after thanking students for buying all available season tickets. “And you know what, we’re heading to Dallas here in a couple weeks to go beat the heck out of Michigan and then come back to you guys.”
You may recall that Michigan headed to Dallas a few years back to beat 'Bama. We didn't exactly do that, but that's why we headed there.

Or his interpretation of the facts. Whatever works.

But Jim should use this and fuel the fire with our team. I would have Mo and Rashan read this 1,000 times to our entire defense.

He was at a pep rally in front of a bunch of alums, fans and boosters. What do you expect him to say? "Boy I sure hope we do well, but with seven guys suspended, I'm just not sure...."
Nothing to see here.

I'd expect him to say something that won't be rubbed in his face at the postgame press conference.

Not going to fault the guy for having confidence in his team. If he doesn't, he shouldn't be coaching any team, much less coaching at Florida.
Guess I just don't see the issue.

I asked this of other people a couple of times on this thread, and I'll ask you now. Would you expect Harbaugh to make the same sort of statement? (If there's nothing wrong with it, then why hasn't he done so?)

I'm fine with being out-hit if that means we win this game 51-14.

Negged for click bait fake news. Try to adopt a little more contextual nuance next time OP.

Absolutely love it!!!
Harkens back to Weis running his mouth, followed by that 47-21 drubbing of then #2 noter dame in south bend ....
Love the coach and his confidence and the fact that he asserted a 'whipping" ...go get 'em Harbaugh!

I remember watching Lou Holtz talk about Michigan before Notre Dame played them, and every time after he got done talking I was convinced Michigan would win by 35 and be in National Championship contention.
