I had a 7:30 meeting this morning.  I was late to it.  That's not very good on me, but at the same time, I feel like if you set up a 7:30 AM meeting, you deserve to have a couple people who come late.

I have to testify next week as a witness in a fraud case, for a job I was at 2.5 years ago.  I need bangs to get me through the anxiety.

Also any MgoLawyers around... advice would be great.  I plan on repeating, "I don't remember" for most questions.  Because, c'mon that was 2.5 years ago.

3.  tell the truth.

'yes', 'no', 'i don't know' and 'i don't remember' are perfectly good answers if in fact they are accurate.   don't get cute on the witness stand.  answer only the question asked.  too many witnesses think they can zing the questioning lawyer and so many times it works out the opposite.

Go with the truth. That works the best, as it is more difficult for a defense lawyer to cut a hole in. Also, the prosecutors get pretty pissed off if they realize that your shading the truth. That is not a good thing. The other alternative is to get an old tape or DVD of the Watergate hearings. You'll get plenty of ideas just by watching that once through. If you're not sure about your own actions, you better speak with somebody about he or she being there to monitor whether or not you should take the fifth to a particular question. If it is an active criminal defense attorney, make sure that he or she is not a frequent contributor to M go blog. And chill. It's like falling off a log. You'll be fine.

Smoking a 14 pound USDA Prime Brisket and I could not be more excited about it. (Costco has incredible prices on brisket. Seriously I payed like 45 bucks for this one.)
