Sam Webb strongly hinted that this might be related to grades and/or qualifying, but he specifically said he did not want to talk about grade issues about specific kids. Listening between the lines, I think Webb has heard more than he's willing to say on-air. If Dorsey does end up at a JC, that greatly lessens the chances he will eventually come here, IMHO. No doubt Birkett will crow over this if it comes to pass. blueblueblue: I heard about this first on WTKA about 15 minutes ago, and they heard it from somebody who saw the alleged info on a JC website.

...that he didn't know anything about it till the report, because Ira said he was going to blow up the next 5 minutes, then Sam removed himself to check it out. But it DOES sound like he knows a little more now. Hard to tell, because they're having technical difficulties with the phone, and have pretty much removed themselves for taped interviews.

This is bad news any way you slice it. If it's legit then we don't get an awesome talent that could help us right away and the local media will sink their teeth into it. If it is a back up plan then the media will still sink their teeth in and make the kids image worse. I feel for him because 97.1 is going to have a field day with this.

I looked at last year's "class" for the CC and their roster and: 77 guys "signed" with them last year 34 actually were on the team That means that about 56% "signed" but didn't go there. I still have to believe this is a back up plan...

Are you aware of how talented Dorsey is? Its not about just the defensive backfield, he is going to probably return kickoffs and punts too. He's one of those kids where you just have to have him on the field as much as possible and get the ball in his hands. Our corner depth is not that great either, we need as much talent as we can get back there and Dorsey is a major piece of the puzzle.

has yet to be determined in the defensive backfield. There's a lot of guys who were talented high school players, but not many of them have yet to show that they are talented college players on saturdays in the fall.

Ricardo Miller and Marvin Robinson before they committed early and took themselves off of the recruiting radar.. Richard Ash had a lot of interest from both schools until his weight became an issue.

National Signing Day was just a little more than a month ago.....and assuming that Fort Scott CC has somewhat of a lag time behind LOI signings and posting them on the internet, I think we can safely assume that Dorsey signed his Fort Scott LOI at least a week or two ago. Demar Dorsey's grade situation hasn't changed significantly over the past month, so it's obvious that he's in a gray area for qualifying or getting in to UofM and was in that same gray area when he was recruited by our staff. He still needs some work to do and everyone knows it, so let's hope that Demar can get his grades up and scores up far enough to get in to school. Remember the Gallon situation last year?

I read that he REALLY enjoyed his visit to Fort Scott. Loved the coaches, loved the campus. About his visit, Dorsey said, "Rural Kansas is much nicer than Ft. Lauderdale. I could really see myself starting a life here." I think we are fighting an uphill battle here, guys.

If you have a Scout subscription, and you are looking to set your mind at ease about this...now would be a good time to utilize your subscription.

It's not uncommon to see players that are on the fence (academic qualifying) sign LOI to JCs as a backup plan. This isn't a story...it's just sensationalizing what we already knew. Don't panic & take it like a man.

If you honestly think Dorsey will ever play a down of football at Michigan. Not gonna happen.
