I thought the day would be a good one after part 4 down below but now it seems that may not be the case. Hopefully there is a reasonable explanation that favors M on this one.

Anyone else long for the days before "Premium recruiting reporting," when no one would have any idea who Demar Dorsey is at this point in his life?

True, back in the good ol days this would be true, but now any bad news is impossible to avoid and the ignorant ones read the freep and listen to valenti.

Sam and Ira said the plan the is for him to go to UM, wouldn't further elaborate. Listen guys, Dorsey had questionable academics to start with, this is probably just a back up plan in case UM admissions doesn't like his final grades or something. Remember, RR had to battle them to get them to approve Dorsey when he was about sign for Michigan. Admissions first said no, then another former UM football player (name is escaping me right now) talked to them and vouched for the kid.

on WTKA just said he didn't want to talk about a kid's academic or personal background. Sounded like Dorsey needs to " do some work" to get into Michigan.

There are more than 70 athletes listed as signing a letter for the CC!! Me thinks most of those represent athletes having a back up plan (try to convince yourself that a CC in Kansas is really getting 70 football recruits this year... see? Not happening).

I have no idea... or any inside info. I just noticed that the site lists 70+ "letters of intent" for that school. I have to believe that 60% or more of those will never materialize for them and that this is a common thing for athletes to cover their bases in case they need to go the CC route.

CCs are often just 2-year programs, so they probably do have a lot more football players in a given class to field a team. That said, "letter of intent" seems a little strange to me - could be anyone who wants to enroll there any play some ball in the fall... or as you suggested, a good # of "fallback plans." Just can't imagine the school allowing THAT many "fallbacks," but maybe i'm totally wrong/misinformed about how they handle these types of things..

Grades, grades, grades. They are very subjective. This has everything to do with punk teachers in Florida trying to rob us because he didnt commit to an SEC team.

To the OP - just curious, how in the hell did you find this? Did you search for Demar Dorsey on Google and go all the way to, like, page 5? Or did you get a tip of some sort? Or are you just a die-hard fan of the Fort Scott CC Artichokes?

Got it at 7:45 this morning from a good friend of mine who works at Umich as I was driving in to work. It said "Demar might be going to Fort Scott CC...heard from xxxxxxxxxx" I "x'd" out the source b/c my buddy gives me info from people close to the team. I got in to work this morning, checked this site and then rivals. Rivals had a story about it and I started to flip out.
