Aubrey Solomon Announcing 10 am Wednesday on ESPNU

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

Forgive me if this was embedded in another thread, but ESPN released its schedule of the National Signing Day commitments it will air. Aubrey Solomon will announce at 10 a.m. on ESPNU. He's the only one of our prospects who's announcing on ESPN. The full schedule:

Haven't heard announcements times or forums for our other hopefuls, but I'm sure they'll be coming.

Accept the great mystery that is crootin'. I expect Solomon, Gay, and Collins to go SEC, so if any do sign with the good guys that's a happy delight for being unexpected. We have a great class today, as is.

Insiders still feel good about our chances. I like to think Solomon continually saying Bama is just him trying to drum up drama before going elsewhere, but who knows with him.

Nico Collins just finished his Georgia OV and apparently the GA 247 writers said they think he goes elsewhere with the guess being Michigan. That would be a huge win if true.

grown weary of UM informing the NCAA of their shenanigans with Wilson and supposed games with Nico. Then again, maybe Nico realizes Kirby is selling 7-5 despite tons of talent - he is a very good D.C. and that's about it. JH is an offensive genius and legit HC, while Pep is a NFL OC. If Nico wants to play in the NFL, the choice clearly points to UM.

Seen us finish as the bridesmaid too often in these battles when in a recruit's "top 2", most notably when going up against an SEC school.

Since D'Shawn Hand choosing Bama's engineering program over UM, only 1 recruiting loss really bothered me, but for different reasons.  Scumbag Meyer misleading Weber about their soon to depart running backs coach. And while that sucked, I prefer a few of the backs on our current roster anyways.

"I prefer a few of the backs on our current roster anyways."

Thanks for saying this.  I thought this all season.  At the time, I was bumbed that we lost Weber over some guy named Higdon.  Now I think Higdon is more explosive than Weber.

Solomon may be more important than Gary was. Not only due to his talent and need, it would help perception of Michigan going up against the big boys in recruiting while potentially establishing a badly needed pipeline. Lots of future ramifications.

He originally visited A2 and committed because it was a great fit. Mom backs him off, then she finds out how great UM is. Immediate playing time. Mattison and Brown tutelage. JH, who actually cares about winning in life (Sabah is a FB robot). I see Solomon going Blue and dominating in the winged helmet with Rashan, Luigi, Hudson and others.

This is my reply to the idea that Gay is the most critical player left on our board.  Defensive line is dominant in college football.  As we have seen, you can have a great defense without great linebackers.  But you have to have a great defensive line (or two).  And we do have excellent LB recruits already.  We really need Solomon to join Luigi.

Our d-line right now is Gary-Hurst-Mone-Winovich, and then Luiji is already committed. I definitely would see Solomon doing next year what Rashan's done so far, but I think the d-line will be fine regardless. I have no dispute about the role of a d-line in a whole defense in college football, but I think that's solid for us as it is, especially with Mattison. I want to see Michigan attract the best athletes, because that matters too, and to burst that Mississippi/SEC bubble. I think Gay is a better replacement for Jabrill, as a dedicated SAM, than Metellus, Anthony, Ross, or Singleton. Gay has that 'umph' in tackling and sees plays develop before they happen, much like Jabrill, which are the two most essential skills for the position, aside from simply executing the scheme. Metellus has great upside and can probably do a little of everything skill-wise, Anthony was a playmaker in high school, Ross has good range and instincts, and Singleton has a big body and was recognized for his pass coverage. But, I think Gay puts that all together, which is great to have as Partridge can begin work with that skill set right from the get go. Plus, I don't think we have an outside shot at Tufele, either.

that we see playing a major role in championship caliber SEC/ACC defenses. Those guys that no matter how good our defense is we see at night and think "where do humans like this come from". Bama, LSU, FSU, Clem, etc are always full of WGs. We likely won't get him but he's tied at the top of the list for me as a player with Solomon.

We need Solomon in this class!! If we could only land two guys I would choose Solomon and Gay. Hoping Harbaugh and company close the deal!!! Go blue!!!

So Solomon said he looked at football and graduation rates for his top schools and that's how he came to a decision. He said the school he picked has been doing some amazing things in both categories. Doesn't Alabama have us beat in both? I can't seem to find the graduation rates exactly for both schools but from what I could tell somehow Saban has pretty high graduation rates and I couldn't find us on a list.
