I'm pretty sure we won the conference tournament last year.   And we did the autobid because of it.  Every team he listed in his football scenario where conference champs because of the results of the conference title game (tournament)

I thought the same thing.  I think 74 yards is significant.  They are currently 73rd in Total Defense.   74 less yards and they are a top 25 defense.  That is massive.

Or MAYBE he had a heart to heart conversation with the coaches and they didn't see it happening for him, and he is leaving now so that there doesn't appear to be a logjam of players at the spot to help out with future recruiting.   Maybe it is the most selfless and team-oriented thing ever.

Truth is, not one of us knows, and it is super easy for any one of us to tell ourselves a story that helps fill some narrative.

Maybe we just wish him well.

Maybe one day the coaching staff will stop their laziness of trying to do the absolute best they can and instead post to message boards.

You could argue results, strategy, and other things on this board, but I'm fairly certain that you are insane if call this staff lazy

While the content of the post is bad, maybe "somebody who is already banned is now threatening to leave" isn't going to sound the alarm.

Not onboard with the above plan, but yes the service is great.   I have a Chromecast ultra and sports channels come in great.  No hint of lag/buffering, etc.

A few problems with your idea.

* Though you are allowed 5 accounts, only 3 streams are allowed at a time.  They assume that the family will actually occasionally watch things together.  A Michigan game on BTN may be a problem for all five people

* location services are required to be enabled, and YoutubeTV states that if the family accounts aren't regularly making a presence at home base, the account will be disabled

* good lord, it is $40 a month. It is a swinging deal.  Please stop trying to figure out a way to steal $32 of this back and make it more expensive for people who aren't stealing

03/04/2018 - 1:00pm Laimbeer was a dick

But he was our dick, and you are supposed to like your own dick

02/28/2018 - 11:32am It's stealing

If you see something in the window, want it, but its overpriced, you don't get to steal it.  You think this game is not worth a $7 a month monthly subscription, that is fine, and you may be correct.  It doesn't entitle you to steal it.

02/27/2018 - 3:41pm That makes you a thief

There is a streaming option, for a subscription.  If you don't care for that, or think it is too much, you can choose to excersize your consumer right to not purchase, and even cancel your other subscriptions that you feel contribute to the problem.

Regardless of how justified you think you are, what you are intending to do would be a criminal act. > 99% chance that you will get away with it, if you choose to rationalize your behavior against possible consequences.   Don't think that the day won't come where the hammer won't come down on this, all the people that got busted for pirated music at one point thought that too.

02/26/2018 - 8:08am Before BTN+

MAYBE one of the games would be televised on FSD, *MAYBE*.

Now all games are televised, though you have to pay a $7 subscription to get your team.  As I live 5 states away, this is a much better deal than paying to $15 a month to get "all" of the regional FS networks that were out of market,  and catch the marginal number of games that were actually broadcast.

I get to watch UM wrestling, gymastics, softball, field hockey.   These are all good things.  Not everything about this environment is bad.

02/15/2018 - 1:34am What is cool about this is

Well, several things

1. She didn't get hurt

2. The other obvious stuff

3. She is laughing about it the entire time.  It's very easy for somebody in her position to get all prima donna about stuff, and it is clear that she isn't one of those.   Awesome.

02/14/2018 - 6:20pm I'm good with it

It's amazing how people let the peter principal affect their overall view of somebody when in their previous/lesser role they had nothing but success.  Usually, the issue is more around having that person realize they won't be that next level again.

Fwiw, I would be fine if in 2019 or beyond we brought back Hoke has a D-Line coach if Mattison were to retire.  I doubt he'd ever do it, but if he was willing I'd be excited about it.

01/18/2018 - 7:18pm Houston benched him

Because once teams figured out he couldn't coverage, he was horrible

12/28/2017 - 9:38am Totally cool with it

Fake plays are part of the game.  The "intent to decieve" rule, while stupid, has to do with player substitution, and that had nothing to do with this play.

You could argue that fake punts cause punters to get mauled.  About once a month in the NFL you see a fake spike, if not more than that.   Are you going to start arguing that play action gets your RB hit more often?

This was a great play call at the end of the 1st half.   If we called it, you would have loved it.

11/30/2017 - 1:32pm Sad for Mo because of this

I'll be happy for him on Draft Day :)

11/29/2017 - 6:27pm Amazing Diagnosis

Considering you only saw him get carted off.   There is no way you could possible know that.  I had a concussion from water skiing.  I seemed fine afterwards, drove home that afternoon, no obvious lingering affects.  But I couldn't go out and play hockey for months afterwards without throwing up and migraines just by getting on the ice.   After that, stress tests on a tread mill that would basically do the same thing.

There seems to be an implication that one hit couldn't be dramatic to somebody, or that if you can walk you are ok.  Additionally, you seem to imply that if it is one hit it is somehow related "how tough" somebody is.   This thinking is a couple decades out of date.

11/23/2017 - 9:53pm Is it a possibility that one

Is it a possibility that one of the bands is doing an REM set? That would seem to make more sense and then the game of telephone line caused it to change.

11/23/2017 - 9:42am On the plus side

With this this idea, we could then compare the Morris/Gardner/Minnesota with thing with the Malzone/OKorn/OSU thing.

11/12/2017 - 12:01am Evans

Evans double jump was in the first half of the game, not the lone TD in the second half. The one in the second half involved him running up the middle on a well blocked play.

11/05/2017 - 10:33am The same as the 3 way tie breaker

But once somebody loses one of the steps, they are out and the tie breaker process starts over.

11/05/2017 - 10:31am You are reading it correctly

It is the record they have against each other.   Overall record comparison is tie breaker #7

7.    The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative.

And it is nearly impossible to get down the that level of tie breaker in any given year.   Basically, it's pretty hard to get rewarded for playing 3 cupcakes.  As it should be.

11/05/2017 - 9:58am Here is the link

Assuming it is PSU, OSU, and UM with 7-2 conference records.

#1  The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other.

We'd all be (1-1) against each other.  Still tied.

#2 I  The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division.

OSU would have 1 loss, UM and PSU 2.  OSU wins tie breaker.

Assuming it is MSU, OSU, and UM

#1 The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other.

MSU would be 2-0, they win tie breaker.

Assuming it is MSU (w/loss to OSU),  OSU, UM, PSU

#1 UM is 1-2, MSU would be 2-1, PSU would be 2-1, OSU would be 2-1

PSU/MSU/OSU remain, as you got down to 3 teams from 4 you start the tiebreaker rules over again, and OSU would go because of 2-0 record.

There is 0 ways for UM to get the divisional title without both MSU and PSU having 3 conference losses.

10/24/2017 - 5:16pm Returning offensive production

To compare Osu's "young" offense last year to Michigan's this year is not a true comparison.   The folks that didn't contribute for Osu the year prior and then started playing, were high star recruits, some of those that may be been non-contriburtors but then started on the line as, like a redshirt junior.

Michigan's 3rd, 4th, and 5th year offensive players were not high recruits.  To say they should be better than Buffalo is a bit misleading.  Even if the fancy stats "accounts" for SoS of Buffalo, it isn't so precise that it can be taken literally with no context.

Before the 2016 season started, many people thought this was going to be a worse year than last year.  Can't say I'm thrilled, but I'm not is some state of panic or think that I have observations that would be useful to the coaching staff.

10/20/2017 - 2:22pm The only thing

The only thing this tells us, in my opinion, is that he is unlikely to come here.  It doesn't tell us that the visit was botched or not botched, that we are great or suck at recruiting.   Since you can only hear one side of the story, it just tells you that he most likely will not be coming.  In order to understand those other things, you'd have to look at how recruiting is going as a whole and infer from that.

09/03/2017 - 2:47pm Deserved is a strong word

But I was very concerned when it happened, even before I heard there was a flag.   As I've never been able to make heads or tails out of what is or is not, I thought the worst.  I think it would have changed the game entirely, he was a beast yesterday.

08/28/2017 - 1:04pm Best.Photoshop.Ever.

08/20/2017 - 3:07pm Dennis Gentry

In Techno Bowl, he was unstoppable as a kick returner.  We should get him.  I think he was teammates with Harbaugh as well.

05/04/2017 - 7:35pm Hoke

There are a ton of things to get disappointed from with Hoke. However, he deserves a ton of credit with the APR scores, as well as the kids he recruited

05/01/2017 - 8:34am Context Matters

If you had good teams in the 60's, when the draft had 17 rounds, you are going to have some high counts in these numbers.    This number gets slightly offset due to the fact there were less teams.   If they normalized the numbers so that they just counted the first 7x32 picks in ever year, it would show a better portrayal.

02/06/2017 - 5:02pm This is grossly innaccurate

He STARTED 2 seasons.  In those 2 seasons, there were 2 games where Henson got more PT than him, and Henson never started over him in either of those years -- this is commonly misstated.  The other games, he usually played 75% of the snaps.

He was was a member of the Wolverines for 5 years (1 Red Shirt).  It was a significant part of his life, and where he will always say he learned what it meant to practice to earn your job.  The dude bleeds maize and blue.

01/29/2017 - 9:30pm Yes

Everybody seems to be completely ignoring that his last statement lists 2 things that tip Bama's way.

01/29/2017 - 2:43pm especially

considering how many other turd of a games he has had, it's saying something

01/08/2017 - 2:41pm Shocked

Shocked that he went to the school that he was always committed to and never decommitted from.  Folks need to understand this was always a story flamed by people who get paid for you to be interested in this info.

01/05/2017 - 10:22pm OR

Or its reasonable he never decommitted, and people who get paid for recruiting websites have "gut feels" and "information" that he is strongly considering a school so people lap up the content.   You don't need to be right even 50% of the time.    You can be right about the commits that  have already committed, and make up crap about the rest.

A guy that committed to Bama, never decommitted from Bama, is mysteriously going to Michigan, but wants to keep it a secret for reasons, just cuz he's quirky.   Have neverbelieved it for a second.

12/31/2016 - 8:43pm I'm amazed

by some of the negativity. we've had 6 losses in 2 years with players who previously couldn't put together a winning season. of those 6 losses, 5, or pessimisticly 4, were coin flip games. of the 20 wins, 2 or 3 were coin flip games? 17 dominant wins? compare that to 7-5 where the losses were blowouts and none of the wins dominant.

it's not like we are 5-7 saying wait until the coaches players are here. the future is bright, I was particularly happy with the halftime adjustments.

12/19/2016 - 11:25am College Football is more popular

College Football is more popular than College Basketball, because football is more fun for current americans to watch.   I think very little of it has to do with playoffs or not.

12/07/2016 - 9:30am Nobody needs to explain why

You could easily point to 100 things that wouldn't have to be the "character issues" that you heard about from 2 people from his highschool.  Nobody on this board knows for sure, and most of us decide that we want to continue to root for somebody that we had high hopes for but it didn't work out for him.

10/27/2016 - 2:02pm Gary Thorne

Gary Thorne, easily the best!

10/27/2016 - 9:49am Steve Levy

I'm fairly certain that Steve Levy has had several bloody mary's prior to any game.

10/25/2016 - 9:57am It is mostly no different

It is mostly no different than coming out of a huddle and sprinting to your starting spot, which has been done plenty.  The only possible advantage I could see is if there were some type of read they were performing while in the train, but I'm not sure what that read would be as the defense hasn't show their alignment yet.

10/24/2016 - 9:04pm it's a rule

on a forward progress ruling. foot out of bounds is a not a forward progress ruling.

it's a stupid, stupid rule, but I think it was applied correctly.

10/23/2016 - 12:38pm Section 3 Reviewable plays

Section 3, article 3, subarticle e

"e. Ball carrier’s forward progress, spot of fumble, or spot of out-of-bounds backward pass, with respect to a first down"

I agree with that this is a stupid rule, but I remember it from some game (maybe not a michigan game) a few years back.  I'm pretty sure that is what happened here.

10/22/2016 - 8:31pm I think there is actually a rule

around spotting the ball, that it can only be respot based on if it were a first down or not. or a score or not. I'm not saying this with 100% certainty, nor am I saying it's a good rule
