REPORT/RUMORS: Harbaugh Telling Recruits Pep Hamilton Is Joining Staff (per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport)
The other Pep Hamilton thread is off the front page and this is a newer development that sounds like "it's happening."
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport Harbaugh's been telling recruits that Pep Hamilton is joining the staff.
Note on #Browns AHC-offense Pep Hamilton: #Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has been telling recruits for a few days that he’s joining the staff.

So is he going to be the QB coach or the OC? I can't quite get that part straight.
And who the hell is our OC anyway?

I wish he would stick to the OL....I'm not convinced of his play calling skills and we need him to focus on our biggest weakness.

I agree. Michigan's O Line has had its problems but the play calling in general has been an enigma given all of the playmakers and talent we had on offense last year. He must do better next year for us to become elite.

We made fun of Indiana for hiring DeBord as their OC, but most of the time I don't see anny difference between Drevno's offense and DeBord's offense.

Isn't it a dead period in recruiting until 1/11?
Can Harbaugh actually tell recruits anything?

What is a dead period?
During a dead period a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents, and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high schools. Coaches may write and telephone student-athletes or their parents during a dead period.

call coaches, but coaches can't call them.

Seems like a solid hire. Plus, he's pretty young (42), which should help on the recruiting trail. The only concern I have is the usual "this guy was in the NFL for most of his career" note, but again, this is a guy Harbaugh likes and I don't doubt him.

NFL coaching experience always welcome

I'm sure I'm wrong here but something about him being a part of the Browns makes me not like this hire....nothing good comes from that organization.

Belichik

I was thinking more like they havent won shit since the days of Jim Brown. If there is any team out there worse than the Lions, its the Browns.

Belichik went on to great things after his stint with the Browns. Maybe this guy will too.

He coached for the Browns 1 year out of his 20 years of coaching

I can dig this. Looks like he's coached for Howard, Stanford, New York Jets, 49ers, Colts, and the Browns
I like the diverse amount of expierence he has at multiple levels

I like the hiring of coaches with NFL experience. Easy to sell recruits they will get top notch coaching and will groom them for an NFL career.
