UM Golfer Nick Carlson receives congratulatory letter from Arnold Palmer
Michigan golfer Nick Carlson was the delayed recipient of a special memento last week -- a letter from legendary golfer Arnold Palmer.
Carlson said he was amazed to receive the three-paragraph note congratulating him for being a semifinalist in the U.S. Amateur in August at Oakland Hills Country Club. "Utter shock, really,"
Carlson told The Detroit News on Thursday. "Like, I never expected it. "It's just something really cool and almost a priceless moment, in my opinion."

I love that Palmer threw some props to UofM in the letter, along with noting Carlson's performance. What a thrill (and what a shock) it must have been for Carlson to get that letter!

Congratulatory letter-writing zombies are the scariest zombies.
Mix your iced tea and lemonade accordingly.

Interesting note... In the terrible movie based on the book "World War Z," they went with fast zombies. But in the book, they were slow, lumbering zombies. And the book was way scarier and better. It's sort of the difference by being chased by one Usain Bolt, or by 5000 Ken Bones...

Now I'm going to have nightmares about being chased by one Ken Bone that is as fast as Usain Bolt. That is terrifying.

Can we assume from this that you're a pregnant woman?
(Google "Ken Bone" and "pregnant" and sit back in slack-jawed amazement.)

The only similarity the film shared with the book was its name. Just generic hot garbage.

I wanted him to write a book just about South Africa and the vignette about the Apartheid-era scientist who is interviewed from his mental hospital and comes up with the "final solution" to the zombie problem...

Kudos to The Detroit News for scooping the other Detroit rag on this story.

a fan who looked up AP's number in the phone book in Latrobe many years ago and called him. They spoke for a long time. What star would do this now or even then?

What would the zombie version of an Arnold Palmer beverage look like? Add dry ice?
