but I believe Harbaugh is much closer to Carr than Miles on a personal level; therefore, no advice from Les as member of staff. If you don't know what I am referring to, let's just say Mo  and L.C. were tight and Les was not a member.

Yes, he has a good win percentage, but his product on the field simply did not match the recruiting classes he was pulling in. His offense dates back to the stone age and he has no clue about how to develop a QB.

Dumb decision. And unprecedented in LSU football history to fire coach in mid season. LSU has hired some crap coaches in the past, but Miles is not crap. He is a weirdo, but has the highest win pct of modern LSU coaches, two national title games, one national title.

I'm calling one of these names:

Top candidates:
1. Herman - however, I think he might elect to stay at Houston.
2. Briles - doubtful due to off the field issues, but it will be considered.
3. Chip Kelly - does he leave San Fran after 1 year?

Dark horses:
1. Todd Graham
2. Bobby Petrino

Super dark horse:
1. Bo Pelini

A huge chunk of this here fan base lost their collective shit that we didn't hire that idiot. Proving once again that the worst thing you can do is let fans dictate your decisions.

i would only point out that there was also, on this blog, a tag entitled "dave brandon's pimp hand."  to wit - our a.d. 'got it,'  as did our new coach, brady hoke.  after all, "it's michigan, for god's sake."

those two got it, until they didn't get it, when all hell broke loose and ann arbor torch and pitchfork inc. got busy.

fans are dumb.  always have been.

How does he recruit someone and tell them that if you become the winningest coach in our history and win a national championship, that you could still get fired midseason for a 2 game losing streak to 2 traditional powerhouse teams?! Who would work under such a person?

Tom Herman will not go to LSU.  Houston has a good potential of sustaining their success and Herman is paid well enough to stay there until Texas calls.  Texas will outbid LSU anyday.

Realistically, LSU should look at the following candidates.

  • Rich Rodriguez
  • Sonny Dykes
  • Ed Orgeron

Jimbo Fisher may want to take a look at the job, but I doubt he would leave with his family issues.
