GOD, this anger takes me back to when I was driving down I-94 and they said on the radio we would be playing in East Lansing two years in a row.  I thought my head was going to explode.

If we could get that MSU game back to where it's supposed to be, playing at Notre Dame in 2018 wouldn't be an issue.  It would be the schedule as it's always been; OSU and ND at home in odd number years, MSU at home in even numbered years.  Guarenteed a rivalry game at home any year.

No, just Indiana. It's probably too late to do it in 2018 but I don't think the 2020 Big Ten schedule has been released. Currently M is scheduled to be vIU @MSU in 2020. Switch those and you're back on track, with the bonus of Michigan getting two straight home games in 2019-2020 vs MSU (return for 2013-14). I don't think Indiana would mind, they currently have OSU and M on the same home/away schedule, it they switch it up they would have OSU/MSU away in 2020 and M/PSU home.

I know this has been figured out as an easy solution. But I just highly doubt the B1G would change the conference schedule just because Michigan is unhappy with the lineup. Should they? Yes. But, it would just be a bad look in front of the rest of the schools. Plus, why would MSU ever agree, and at this point the Master of Intergalactic basketball games in East Lansing is a genius compared to Warde Manuel, so not much faith in our negotiating skills.

Maybe we could agree to play our home game vs. IU in Indianapolis or something to sweeten them up to pushing for the switch too. In their state, but a pretty meaningless game for us that different fans get to travel to, and also experience a venue we hope to be playing in regularly late in the season. Again, this type of creative thinking so far is beyond Manuel.

I never understood how we got here in the first place.

Yes, the divisions shuffled up between the 2013 and 2014 seasons.  Which admittedly presented some difficulties.  But this is what got scheduled for 2014:

Indiana @ Michigan (same exact match-up took place in 2013).

Michigan @ MSU (same exact match-up took place in 2013).

MSU @ PSU (first game between the schools since 2010).

PSU @ Indiana (same exact match-up took place in 2013).

The fix back in 2014 was OBVIOUS!  Flip all those games!  You get rid of 3 yearly back-to-back match-ups, MSU/PSU hadn't played in a few years anyway, and everyone still has equal home/road games.

Is what it is.  We're stuck now.  You could theoretically still flip all those games, but MSU and PSU are more likely to object (whereas they would not have cared in 2014).

Big Ten schedules will eventually change again, assuming that realignment isn't done.  When that happens, I expect the Big Ten and Michigan/MSU to rectify the current scheduling imbalance.

Warde whiffs on his first big move as AD. The 2018 had to be at home to save that schedule and keep ND for getting an extra home game in the series. Really disappointed right now.

This guy doesn't schedule a night game and now this? He's been an absolute disaster so far. The decrease in quality between Hackett and this guy has been really, really scary. It is not a difficult job and yet we somehow keep finding people who are completely unable to do it well.

Scary and aggravating.

Wow, and the big house game will be in october? why would we want to play them in the middle of B1G season? oh, to accommodate the Irish schedule, warde?

WTF? How are we allowing the first game to be at South Bend after the move they pulled to secure the final game in the series at South Bend? How are we allowing away games in the same year at MSU, osu and ND? Are we stupid?

But hey Warde is friends with Harbaugh, so its all good!

I think we are the only team that tries to make it harder to win anything.

Ho Lee Fuk...  We pay our ADs millions of dollars to continually be outwitted by the Big 10, MSU and ND.  Totally unacceptable.

There could be scheduling changes made to conference scheduling. Hell, there could never be a realignment. By 2018 Michigan will also be a Harbaugh machine.

How does this happen? We're just a bunch of fans on a blog, and we get this immediately. How does the athletic department not say, "Now, wait a fucking minute here!"? Either they know something, schedule wise, that we don't, or this is about the worst god damn disgrace I've seen in a while.
I especially feel for those of you who are season ticket holders. To pay for a full season with ZERO home rivalry games would be a tough pill to swallow. Yuck!

So we're all focused on the weird trifecta of road games in 2018, BUT, maybe JMFH figures that by 2018, he will have so decimated MSU's recruiting that Staee won't be what they are today.  (We can all hope.)

What jumps out to me is that the 2019 game is late in the season -- utterly weird.  Although, it might take on greater significance about the playoffs, as ND's Clemson game did last season.  I don't ever recall a late-season OOC game with such significance.

Manuel is literally making decisions as if he is an 80 year old Michigan fan who gets his Michigan news snippets by telegram and pays no attention to details. Noon games? yay! Red's back? yay! Notre Dame's back? woohoo! These all seem like wonderful decisions to the casual fan, but when you look closely... in a way I'd expect an athletic director to do, they all have major concerns.

I'm so pissed. I leave close enough to travel to Arkansas and see a game there. There goes my chance to see a Michigan road game. Why cancel a series?! Notre Dame didn't need to be on the schedule this soon! Plus three road games again the rivals in one year?!

No respect. Two in a row away games to the school that f'ed us?

I thought only MSU and Delaney could do that.

And then October 26th?

Clearly we acting like we are second fiddle to ND. Bo was right. The Hell with Notre Dame!

Okay I'm glad ND is back on the schedule.. BUT WHY DO THEY GET THE FIRST HOME GAME? WTF... they got the last home game before they bitched out on the series.. whatever.. hopefully they make MSU come to AA twice in a row to adjust the schedule back. assholes

In this situation can someone explain why we couldn't just keep Arkansas and have a decent SEC opponent visit and not pay the penalty? It's obvious we shuffled our schedule in a negative way for us for their visit in 2019, so don't tell me they couldn't move Ball State in 2018.

Odd, really odd. I love the ND series, but I can't imagine JH didn't at least throw out the fact that 3 big road games like this is probably a bad idea. Looks like I can probably pick up some cheap tix for the 2018 home season though. What a shitshow that schedule will be.
