Michigan Softball vs Missouri Game 2 Open Thread [UPDATE: M WINS, ADVANCES TO WORLD SERIES]
Michigan took game 1 yesterday 5-3 and will go for the sweep vs Missouri today at noon in Ann Arbor on ESPN.
The winner advances to the Women's College World Series and will face LSU in the first round.
Game 3 (if necessary) would follow after a short break on ESPNU.

Why in softball to they fake the bunt with 2 out? Is the rules different than baseball?
A lot of them use it as a timing mechanism. I don't think they have any intention of bunting.
we CANNOT keep stranding runners...in the 5 games weve lost this is the recurring theme..This worries me..this game has the same feel..Mizzou is hitting Betsa but the defense has saved her so far

Well, even though we've batted horribly with runners in scoring position, it's still a good sign that we're getting people on consistently.
A secondary goal here is to make these innings as long as possible for Missouri's pitcher. They have no back up, so she will have to pitch the entire second game if Missouri were to force it. Would be good if she's worn out.
Through 4 innings Betsa has about 20 less pitches thrown than Mizzou's girl. That's a good sign.
Nice to see Tormund parlaying his GoT stardom into commercials, but that commercial would have been epic with a Brienne cameo...

One extremely positive sign though: Betsa has zero walks or hit by pitches so far. Given that she tends to struggle with free passes, this is pretty encouraging, even if we are missing her usual strike outs.
need a clutch hit here; no reason you can't get a hit with two outs. Let's Go Blue!!
