Paul Finebaum lobs smack from the cheap seats at Harbaugh

Submitted by Maizen on

He got petty and personal today...

"I think Jim Harbaugh's problem is he's never grown up. He just doesn't have any maturity".

"At some point you like to look at a head football coach at a major university, which Michigan is, and see an adult, see someone that is mature, see someone that doesn't throw tantrums on the sidelines, that doesn't always cause division like he did at San Francisco."

"At some point you have to graduate from being the spoiled kid to someone who is respected, and I'm not sure he has quite reached that yet."

"I'll tell you who he reminds me of a little bit, Lane Kiffin at Tennessee, who clearly didn't know what he was doing, who was out of control, who was like a puppy running into walls, and in some respects that's Jim Harbaugh now at Michigan."

"I will tell you what he is, and what will happen, he had a good first season, but he made fun of Hugh Freeze for wanting to spend time with his family, maybe Jim Harbaugh should actually spend some time working on special teams and he wouldn't have had the biggest special teams failure in college football history."

"He got run out of the stadium in what Joey Galloway calls the greatest rivalry in the country."

So you just like being an asshole to people who graduated from Michigan and contribute as a poster in the same community you do.

I've approached this with civility. Please heed my very simple request. Thanks.

How am I being an asshole? The OP vote doesn't count....

Points don't mean anything unless you unlock all seven of the Flying Dutchman's treasures and defeat Brian in a 1-on-1 battle of Parcheesi.

We're arguing over a preseason game essentially. It doesn't count. Why is it an issue? Why can't I vote with my MGoPocketbook artificially on something that won't even show up on my card history?

The question is not why do I do something that does not count but why do we all do it?

What do Kentucky Men do?

Kentucky Men marry their kin.

With respect.

(I kid our brethern in Kentucky, and actually have kin there my own damn self.  Gives me a chance to dust off the old toothbrush joke and whatnot.)

It's customary with me. Some people OP neg my threads and I do theirs.

MaizeHaze doesn't, I just am doing it out of some strange habit.

MeanJoe negs every post of mine but I take it as a compliment because he's one of my favorite posters that make OT season bearable. And he knows it. He is hilarious.

I'm not the one negging his actual posts. OP negs literally don't count.....

Normally back you up, but you should try not using the "you do to me I do to you" downvote/attitude. I know for the most part you don't care what people think, which is good, but show it by not actually making a physical/internet response to backlash. Sometimes it's good to just let haters be haters, otherwise you come across as a hater too. Not sure why I feel obligated to share this, but there it is. Do with it as you may.

Fair enough.  Similarly, maybe Freeze should spend less time starring in The Real Housewives of Oxford and more time coaching so he wouldn't lose to group of 5 teams by two touchdowns.

Hugh Freeze was the first one to fire a shot by implying that coaches who worked satellite camps weren't as good "family" men as the righteous Hugh Freeze is. Harbaugh saw through the BS and called him out on it. Paul Finebaum has a face made for radio and a mind made to be that one smarmy douche in the comments section of an SEC blog.

Finebaum and Freeze are asses, but Harbaugh fired the first shot here.  Remember when he called out Freeze specifically for pulling $5M/year but not being willing to work harder?

That was the first personal shot here.  A funny, visceral shot, that obviously rankled Freeze.  But a shot all-the-same.

Wow, a kid dropping a snap, no maturity for a man who is trying to help himself with camps but also hundreds of kids. His whole argument is the kind that someone would say to me and I would almost be stunned into silence due to the stupidity.

Long snapper has hit. Doesn't get talked about.

The puppet state that is ESPN will never mention it. As long as they're in bed with the SEC on a poorly produced network (have you seen their streaming service?), they'll continue to fluff their pillows.

Yes, there are dozens of coaches out there that are not exactly socially graceful.  Dozens.

But none of them are a threat to beat the top teams in the SEC.

Harbaugh is, and that's why they are so concerned about every little thing he does, no matter how trivial and tangential.

THE MAN MUST BE STOPPED!!

Finebaum wouldn't care about anything to do with this, or have any disparaging remarks about Harbaugh, if this didn't involve the SEC. He also knows that the more he talks about Harbaugh, the more his ratings go up.
