Jim Harbaugh Playing in the Pebble Beach Pro Am

Submitted by AeroEngin04 on

Looks like Jim is going to tee it up this week at Pebble Beach with the pros.  Lots of questions on my mind.

1.  Does he make the cut to Sunday?  (The competitor in him must be burning to make the cut.)

2.  Attire?  (Full Harbaugh?  Rickie Fowler high tops and joggers?)

3.  How's the swing?  (Smooth athletic swing with the help of coaching or a unique home grown swing?)

4.  Clubs?  (Assuming a new bag of Taylormades)

5.  Pro to be paired with?  (My pick: Jason Day)

Good luck to our coach out there.  Hit them straight and enjoy yourself!

EDIT:  Swing looks pretty good; smooth just like his recruiting pitch.

first off ---- if anyone is in the area, they should consider checking it out.  As beautiful as Pebble Beach is on TV, it is MORE beautiful in person.  I just happened to be in San Francisco on business that Monday and flew out the weekend before, and the Sunday trip down to Monterey was well worth it.

Don't know how it works, but I'd guess the golfers get some choice as to their pro-am partner.  One thing about the pro-am: for all the Harbaughs and Brian Kelly and Wayne Gretzky types playing, 80% of the "celebrities" are just business-people who nobody knows who they are.  That's kind of disappointing (though nice for those particular CEOs).

Attire: I'd guess Harbaugh wears a Michigan polo and ball-cap.  He had 49ers gear like that on in 2013.  Verlander played in 2013 and I happened to be wearing my Tigers ballcap, Justin did acknoweldge that with a head-nod, which was cool --- anyone in U-M gear would probably get an acknowledgement from JH.

This is turning out to be like the "where's Eric the Actor now?" twitter blow-up that happened a few years ago.

One day he was snowboarding in Utah, the next day he was seen in the Welfare line with splooge on his glasses...

Was going to ask the same question...  But I'm sure they're not outlawed as the rule states "no metal cleats or spikes" to which he'll be fine wearing his rubber cleats until the SEC pisses and moans about him having an advantate.
