OT: Friday drinking/what are you up to this weekend thread (drinking optional)

Not optional for me, as I am a Hopslam and an Edmund Fitzgerald invested already.  Snow removal and roof-detail for me tomorrow, as I live in perpetual snowland of 1/4 mile off Lake Michigan.  Narrowly dodged a nasty ice dam situation the last 2 winters, and hellbent on preventing one, 3rd year in a row.  

No M Hockey this weekend, which is a bummer.  So, tomorrow is roof, M Hoops and some dog training. Sunday, the boy and I are floating a West Michigan river armed with spey rods and desire to beat a steelhead or two.  If you've never drifted a snowy river, I highly recommend it.

Tonight, 5 fingers of Elijah Crag 12 y/o and Red Wings by the fire.  No work shit, no Swenson, no worries.

Then you'd get a guaranteed week off.  I lived in DC during the winter of 2009/2010 and every big snowfall we had occured from Friday night into Saturday.  I think we had two 12"+ snowfalls in back-to-back weekends.  Beggars can't be choosy, but it would be nice to have the weekends free of snow and let the work week be filled with the snowy mess.

In Louisville I was supposed to be flying outta JFK everything got cax and got told to stay home. So I'm drunk Pappy 10,13 and my 20. Among a lot of other bourbon. Woodford rye is next

Hanging out. Honed and stropped my straight razor as it was tugging a bit. Burned a bunch of boxes and trash in the burn pile out back. Gonna do some laundry later. Eventful.

Going to drink a Big Bad Baptist tonight and then we go on a Mexican Riviera cruise for a week starting on Sunday. So I get to unplug from the 'crootin madness for a solid week. Kinda wish we got back on Wed so I could just see who signed and skip the rest entirely (but it's an addiction so I won't be able to resist when I get back).

I'm a little jealous of the people getting hit by the blizzard. While they're a huge pain in the ass to clean up, I love being snowed in the house for a few days. Play with the kids, make a snow man, watch some movies, bring out the gimp, have some hot chocolate, etc etc.
