Derrick Green not traveling to Citrus Bowl

Submitted by MGoStrength on

I know we've heard speculation that Derrick Green may wind up transferring after getting burried on the depth chart and even more so now after the verbal committment of Karreem Walker.  It's stil unclear if that will happen, but this is just another peice of information regarding the once highly touted running back.  Here's the link:

Compared to some of the other backs, I actually didn't think Green's vision was that terrible.  I got frustrated that he lacked the speed to avoid contact and the power to run through contact.  Was very surpised by his inability to break the weakest of tackles given his size.

Wish him the best. Change of scenery could be good for him. I thought last year he showed glimpses of being a solid back. He definitely gets tackled too easily for a back of his size. It's frustrating. He has the tools, but for a big back, he doesn't run with bad intentions. He runs like a scat back trapped in a fb's body.

I hope next season our running game takes a step up. Probably a combination of not having a good run blocking OL and an elite RB. If Ty can hold on to the ball he could be good? I'm sure someone will take charge as our lead back next season!
