OT: Kyler Murray leaving Texas A&M, second QB to transfer
Texas A&M has lost two starting QBs to transfer in the past couple of weeks. This time it's their All-SEC bluechip freshman Kyler Murray.
Texas fans were hoping for him and Zach Gentry last year and came up empty handed.
Some grad transfer is gonna luck out and start from day 1 there. What the hell is going on down there?
A&M has lost 4 QBs to transfer since 2012.
.@TexAgs reports that QB Kyler Murray intends to transfer from Texas A&M. Early favorite to pick him up has to be Texas.

Indiana is the only B1G team in the last 30 years to make it to the World Series.
The only one. And their head coach that got them there left.

I could see someplace like LSU as well. I don't think he goes to Texas. Charlie Strong has worked hard to rid his program of headcases. Not sure he wants to invite the Kyler Murrary circus to town at a time his job is on the line.

Doesn't Strong need a QB? Unless he thinks Heard or Locksley will save his job next year.

Anywhere but there. Oregon just got their transfer, so maybe they'll be trying to get Murray for 2017.
December 16th, 2015 at 3:29 PM ^
TexAgs guy on Finebaum said Oregon is probably the favorite.

Any idear if he could play Baseball for the Ducks right away? Or sit out a year in all Sports?

wow itd be fun to watch murray run that O out in eugene. itll be tough for anyone at oregon to top mariotas performance (with that 6000 total yard season or whatever he had) but def fun to watch.
as long as he stays away from urban

My buddy is lower level college coach and attended a big time coaches banquet. He sat at a table next to Sumlin and said he was one of the biggest scumbags he's ever met.

Please. I'd love to here more about this
December 16th, 2015 at 4:28 PM ^
I'm not going to. Although he's not the kind of person who embellishes, but yeah, scumbag.
December 16th, 2015 at 4:21 PM ^
That is NO way to talk about our next Head Coach my friend. Rumor has it our Brownies, if and when they take Pettit out, are looking at Sumlin as a possible replacement.

Well, you know the rest. But hey, the Tribe signed Mike Napoli today, so at least we have the World Series to look forward to.

While I am all for adding quality QBs via transfer, this one wouldn't make much sense. He has to sit for a year, and by then, I imagine that either O'Korn or Peters would have the job on lockdown.

I don't know much about Texas A&M academics, but is it completely out of the question that he graduated in one semester and would be immediately eligible?

If you go by the logic that if you have two quarterbacks you have no quarterbacks, then by losing two starting quarterbacks, they have lost no quarterbacks.
/s (If you only had two quarterbacks Harbaugh would pick up a three pack of them at Costco.)
December 16th, 2015 at 3:54 PM ^
Actually if you go by that logic, they gained one QB when Hill left, then lost one QB when Murray left, leaving them with zero.
December 16th, 2015 at 3:46 PM ^
Murray's supposed to be a heck of a baseball player. He probably would have been a first round draft pick if not for football.

I'm glad we got Bush, as he is a) looks like a very good player and b) is slotted to a huge position of need, but I'm sure Texas A&M folks were even more excited about this guy.
Last year: "Whoo-hoo! We got the top-rated high school dual QB in the whole country and one of the best players of any type in all fo Texas!"
This year: "Vaya con dios"

I would like to take this time to announce I am also transferring from Texas A&M and plan to play Quarterback elsewhere

Kyler moved around in high school until he found the right place to start and compete for a state title. Weird atmospherics in that family. I'm not surprised by this move.

Great highlights of his time at Michigan though. He could really throw on the run.
It's a shame he could not keep his head in the game.

This was bound to happen since the initial revelation...
Since that time, I've been told the Aggies have been in the process of attempting to change Murray's mind and keep him in College Station

According to Baseballamerica.com, Murray will transfer to Oklahoma. It's not clear at this time whether he will play both football and baseball or just football.
